Okay, here’s the situation. I have a 4k TV. It has HDMI and Composite inputs. I have an original Xbox. I’ve been playing Halo 1 & 2 on that. The images are a little fuzzy. If I got component cables for the Xbox and then a component to HDMI converter, would it be worth it?
Yes, I know I can play Halo 1 & 2 on the MCC (I have that and a Series X), but I’m replaying all the games on their native consoles. So would it make any difference, or should I just forget it and deal with what I’ve gotten myself into?

While anything is possible, I’d be surprised.
The original Xbox on composite cables is a low quality image, native 480p at best, maybe even 480i. Upscaling that on a native 2160p display is going to be very soft.
A quality HDMI Converter shouldn’t be giving you a fuzzy image. I got a box at MicroCenter a few years back, but Amazon and others sell some quality converters.

Best solution is to use 360 with hdmi out. Otherwise og xbox with component to a tube tv is best. Conversion with component to hdmi to modern tv/monitor will be noticeable better than just using the composite. I suggest halo ce with og mode using your xbox x. Halo 2 on 360. Og xbox really is best on a tube tv. Good luck

Usually when I use Halo 2 on Xbox 360, a strange grey see through image is laid over the screen. Some sort of anti-piracy thingy Bungie did years ago to prevent playing the game on anything but Xbox. Keep in mind the Xbox 360 didn’t exist yet.
