An old feel

I grew up on the Halo series, and now with Halo 4 coming out this winter I am very worried about the future of the series. I felt (and so did thousands of others) that Reach was a dis-service to the community. With sprint letting bad players out of bad situations and other AA’s overall just ruining game play and map flow, and then bloom just making the game extremely random and luck based, I feel like Reach wasn’t even a Halo after the amazing first 3. Another problem was the ranks, in Halo 2 and Halo 3, you where almost guaranteed a good game if you searched in the ranked playlist because the people you played where similar in skill and overall rank. In Reach, the rank just shows how much you play, and there is no fair matching system. A private going in by himself can be put into a game against 4 Noble’s. How is that even close to fair? What previous Halo’s have done before is what I think Halo 4 needs to copy. To all these people who are against the people saying stick with the old Halo and say how change is good, come on, have you even played a Halo before Reach? That big of a change is what knocked Halo off the top. I feel like Halo 4 should take after what the CoD franchise is doing, and that being if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

Stopped reading at “With sprint letting bad players out of bad situations.” it’s not that hard to just chase the “Bad player”.

It has already been said that Halo 4 would be taking the best out of past games as well as adding new stuff to it. Remember that the guys and gals at 343 Industries are all Halo fans and were once a part of the community, wanting the same things as them. At this point in time, they would know what the community wants more so than anybody, so we should trust them.

Blah blah reach is bad blah blah reach isnt halo blah blah please 343 make halo 4 like halo 1 2 & 3.

Never going to happen. 343 is going to the roots of halo HOWEVER they are doing this to EVOLVE the series. They will never go back in time this isnt COD where we will keep getting old multiplayer experiences out of new releases.

Btw half a million people play reach every day so no reach was not a dis-service to the franchise. hundreds of thousands play daily and that spells success

I’m amazed that there are still people on this forum who do not realise this one, simple fact:

Halo: Reach was not part of the Halo trilogy; it was a spin-off, and thus its game mechanics did not need to be a faithful reflection of the mechanics found in the trilogy proper. Whilst Reach may be the direct predecessor of Halo 4 in a chronological sense, Halo 3 is its predecessor in terms of narrative and is likely therefore a more accurate indication of the tone and nature of Halo 4.

Chasing isn’t a viable option in any situation, it usually ends up with you landing on a grenade then getting cleaned up. You can’t shoot at them while you’re sprinting after them which prolongs the battles as well.

That couldn’t be farther from the truth. This game peaks at far less than 100k players.

Go to bungie.net and look at how many players play every 24 hours. The numbers they show you when your playing Reach are players that are ONLINE RIGHT NOW, not how many people have played in total for the day.

Actually learn the figures before you try to argue XD
