I don’t know anymore guys, it’s a been a long run of this. All these things just keep letting me down at where I thought. From the whole Reach Fiasco, to the Bioware Social network Mass Effect 3 thing and now this. I’m just going to need a different mindset for games to be honest. Treat it like a force of nature maybe.
In reality here we really have no firm say on what goes on in game development. We can only influence the company by stating things desired but, don’t always go so far. This is how it is, you can do nothing about it, you play it or you don’t play it.
To be honest with you all it’s a most likely that I will be getting it. It’s a Halo game, it has Halo story stuff, it has guns, explosions, xeno-stuff, jumping high, big things, big vehicles and space stuff. Yes this all sounds kid-ish and yes you are spot on with that one. I didn’t find out until I was older on how many games were “terrible” that I played when I was younger anyway. My eight year old cousin spends hours upon hours of playing Reach(without live) playing campaign over and over and sitting in firefight screwing around(has been for like a year). What does that tell me? A mindset of a child is a mindset of unbelievable fun and enjoyment. I might as well be a child when playing games, you know.
I doubt some of you will interpret this the way I intend but, that’s okay. I just hope some can relate to me here.
Here I come Halo 4.

TBH, thats how i play, i screw around and do -Yoink- i aint meant to do e.g. ‘noble 6 go that way’ f off, i am going in the opposite direction, UNSC TBAG!!!
The mindset of a child IS that of fun and enjoyment. But lets look at what entertains children? lets see.big kabooms. eating insects. bob the builder. etc etc.
I was born in 95, and Halo CE was the first game I ever played. I was 5, and all I knew was that I was a big green man shooting people who liked warts.
When I played Halo 2 I was 9. Older and a little wiser. I understood CE’s story know and was thrilled to play as an Elite as they seemed very honourable.
Then of course there was Halo 3. I was finally able to finish a fight that had lasted my entire life thus far. By this time I had read the books and grown to love the universe and its diverse technology.
ODST was fun, a little bit too open (Only the HUB mission mind you), but I enjoyed it none the less.
Reach. I was stoked. It had jet packs, an anti-splatter ability, barrel rolling, and everything in general looked cooler.
What I’m trying to say is that I’ve grown up with Halo. I have also learnt to take each game in its stride and play them all with a pinch of salt. Halo is an old friend to me, Bungie was my Uncle, and 343 is its eldest son looking to impress me at their party.
I know they are trying to do well, and for that I applaud them. So I will do as I have always done. Kept calm and Carried on.
This is a thread I would really appreciate not dying.

I understand Drew, you can’t blame me for trying to make it better. I just had this thought you know back when I didn’t have any expectations for the Halo CE. How much fun I had when playing. I thought a “shrug and go with it” attitude might help. It does a little, just enough to keep myself at peace and sated. That’s pretty okay ideal for me.
i understand what you are trying to do. The reason everyone is freaking is that we did EXACTLY that (shrugged and went along with it) for halo reach, and it did not work. So you gotta understand our view too.

Bungie was my Uncle too. 343 is also my uncle. The uncle that gets you to trust them and then leads you to a dark locked closet and takes advantage of you.
spartan ops is the most childish thing I have heard come out of 343. some ones got a real hard on for “real world” military bs. edit

I guess my point of view does not stray from yours. Really nothing is going to be quite the same as Halo CE, Halo 2 , 3 etc. I gave up looking for future preservation of exact gameplay of any of them. Just to appreciate what they were to me and move on. The future doesn’t look to bleak from where I stand, I see further potential; perhaps improvement.

I did have your view and I still sort of do. For a good amount of you, it turns to anger and sarcasm. I do not feel anger, all that view does is turn my tides into a sad blue, and I don’t want to feel that way. I’ll still keep a fighting hand, at least trying to have change towards the good come through but, I will not stress over it.
343 be TROllin. It is the April addition of game informer so i don’t know if i can take it seriously yet.
