An issue still prevalent in Warzone

I’m going to be blunt here: 343 needs to get its s*** together, and prevent snowballing in Warzone. What do I mean? Simple: one team gets lucky early on, and that snowballs to them being able to keep the other team at req level three or four. This has been an issue ever since people began getting the powerful weapons, and it’s still there. Now, I don’t know much about game coding, but I think a simple solution would be to fix warzone (basic; assault can remain the way it is) by having the req unlocked by the match time so that both teams would have access to the same level reqs at the same time, making the game fair in the later stages. I just got through playing a few games of basic warzone, and every time, my team lost because of snowballing. Don’t get me wrong, I love warzone, but it’s hard to enjoy it when three games in a row have been losses because of the snowballing way that Warzone can be. I know it’s been over a year since Halo 5 launched, but that just goes to show how much 343 doesn’t really care about people who play this for fun.

So one team is outplaying the other and is getting rewarded for it? That sounds like the game is working as intended.

That completely negates the point of the game.

There isn’t a “definite” solution to combat snowballing in Warzone that won’t adversely affect the community in any way. Best methods now are to gradually curb it or assemble a fireteam prior to a match.

Though what if we have a case of campers who prevent them from getting the assists. The rate at which the losing team gets req points would be so incredible slow.

ye true but at least it’s the fault of the losing team.
I’m thinking that if your team is having trouble capping the middle base or somethin (ie just attacking, dying and becoming stagnant in req level). Ie when your team isn’t getting rekt yet but the enemy really swarms the middle base and you can’t break it, one may want to level up their req level to get an important req like ultra banshee or somethin.

Btw OP if your team is really getting destroyed (or if enemy has a lot of vehicles) don’t get a laser or rocket, do this:

  1. advanced sensor mod
  2. camo
    you will get tons of kills and reqs lol

True, it may end up being harder to carry out in a match, by the time a good req is deployed, the winning team with a higher amount of req points can deploy many more counter weapons e.g. splaser, a lvl 4 req.

Warzone has been decent since 6 man teams been in place

No,he just spoke the truth. That would ruin warzone and make it completely unbearable. Also,just because someone gave their opinion and the opinion makes sense,they’re a close minded jerk for saying it? I don’t think so. These are forums,meant to discuss a game and make it better. Not for someone to call someone else a jerk because they disagree with them. They’re supposed to try and find a middle ground that all parties would appreciate.

Everyone in the community is entitled to post opinions, but name calling is not a good look Spartan.

I agree with OP on this one. 343 has spent lots of time balancing req levels, but then we get in games where one person is at level 6 while another is at level 3 making req balance pointless. There are many, many games where at the 7- 8 minute mark it’s pretty much over. One team has gotten out to a big req point advantage and there is no coming back for the other team. It’s an exercise in discipline to hang around another 10 minutes getting crushed. It wouldn’t be game breaking to have equal level reqs, or at least limit the spread. In my opinion req level imbalance has been the problem with warzone. It’s why full fireteams were able to crush opponents. The randoms could never access their collection and the teams could call in everything. Balance the req timer to balance warzone. It would make the match about skill and strategy instead of just being all about who has the highest req level available. Right now it’s just a req level race and it’s very predictable.

id just afk til req 6 so i could pull out a banshee then. there would be no point for me to play before then since nothing i do would speed up the time for me

The issue, which I agree exists, can be found to be better articulated here - YouTube, as well as 3 suggestions to fix.

I do like something along the lines of the last option, which is a time release function of opening REQ’s to all. I would like to keep the spirit of better players within the match having some sort of advantage, like being 1 lvl above the majority, especially earning energy quicker.

I think with these changes, we could see more stacking of weapons and powerups, but that only makes me think “more REQ use.”
