So too start we delve into some lore. In the book Halo: Fall of Reach it tells about when Halsey first Met John (Mater Chief). They played a guess game for heads and tales with a coin. When John won Halsey gave him the coin. Fast forward to current. So what if Halo six comes and hit’s it’s ending. Chief has to sacrifice himself to stop Cortana. Given it’s a halo game it make since if the person is falling from a high place. This time however a badly damaged Chief knows that this fall is his last. The cut scene is him falling a POV shot of the ground getting closer. Maybe some words from him or Cortana. When he hit’s it snaps back to John meeting Halsey. The whole games books etc… was him day dreaming when Halsey handed him the coin.
I think a great way to end it would be Master Chief waking up aboard the Foward Unto Dawn, realizing everything that happened past Halo 3 was just a bad dream… then going back into cryo sleep, waiting to be brought back for a truly epic adventure worthy of being called Halo.

I like this answer. May I give you an internet cookie, my good sir?
I feel as though master chief has to die somehow at the end of 6, possibly by cortana.
Chief waking up from “a bad dream” would be even worse than halo 5’s poor narrative and halo reach’s lore breaking story, and that’s saying something.
And honestly OP’s ending would be a pretty cool way to end a trilogy, it’s been changed from reclaimer trilogy to reclaimer saga, so we need something even more grand.
- I think they should all die, killed by a halo ring, which would make it anticlimactic (yay!)
- Can they actually come back with a decent campaign story after halo 5 guardians, which pretty much just rendered every other halo campaign before it 100% pointless?
It’s not longer trilogy. It’s a saga now.
Why not have master chief face a difficult choice and have him pull out the coin for a coin toss to determine his choice.

Sure, as long as it’s chocolate chip!
