An interesting idea to give everyone somethin

So i was thinking, a lot of people complain that the population is dying (which it is) and i also noticed a lot of people want them to release the pre-order bonuses due to the fact that the only way to get all of them was to buy like 7 copies of halo 4, or spend a lot of money on Ebay.

and i’ve come up with a very interesting solution to quite a few problems all in one go, or at least, in theory it will. So here is my plan: THE HALO 4 BONUS WEEK!

for one week only, 343i could release a promotional system, wherein each day of the week you play, you earn a different former pre-order bonus. which would work under the following rules:

complete 3 war games matches each week to earn the following bonuses:

Monday- Venator Raptor Skin
Tuesday- Oceanic Circuit Skin
Wednesday- CIO Web Skin
Thursday- Gungnir Pulse Skin
Friday- Hazop Forest Skin
Saturday- Locus and Deadeye helmets
Sunday- Arctic BR and Emblems

what this would do is 3 key things:

Number 1- Send out a good message.

whenever a company gives away free stuff, the word free automatically makes people consider getting it, even if they don’t really want it, cause ya know, free junk, but it would also show that 343i is willing to do something nice for the community without charging them for it (those pre-order items are just gonna get sold on Ebay anyway, 343i may as well make use of their own product rather than let some random guy make something crazy like $20 a piece off of their codes.

Number 2- Give many people something they want

A lot of people want this old content to be more accessible, myself included, Recruit PRME and Fotus should remain exclusive, since they actually cost additional money to buy the right version of the game to get them, but pre-order bonuses were free, so its not like people don’t ‘deserve’ them, its just a case of nobody wants to pre-order that many copies of any game.

This way, they have a reason to play halo all week, to get bonus content they wanted but couldn’t get.

Number 3- Population increase

There is no doubt that free content would bring people who have their games gathering dust back to pick it up, like i said earlier, free stuff makes people get it when they dont need it, cause its free.

This would boost the population, which is what many people want to see happen so that the game is more fair and balance, and search times are less tedious, and since legendary slayer is out and (apparently) really good, those people who return may find they like what halo 4 is like now compared to before, so a population increase is quite possible, even if just for the week.

So to sum up it up, the purpose of the ‘Halo 4 bonus week’ would be to give everybody something, 343i some much needed love from the community, people the pre-order incentives they desire but can’t have, and anybody who doesn’t care for them would see a possible increase in population that results in better matchmaking. Everybody wins!

So leave your opinion, do you think this would work?, would you like to see it tried out?, would it restore some love for halo in you?

If they aren’t coming back for Legendary Slayer, I doubt they’re going to be interested in armor.

It’s a great idea but we are talking about Microsoft here and the words ‘free’ and ‘Microsoft’ usually don’t mix. Otherwise this would be a great idea as i so want the BR skin

> If they aren’t coming back for Legendary Slayer, I doubt they’re going to be interested in armor.

what if they don’t know legendary slayer exists, it was hardly publicized very heavily.

> It’s a great idea but we are talking about Microsoft here and the words ‘free’ and ‘Microsoft’ usually don’t mix. Otherwise this would be a great idea as i so want the BR skin

so true, but like i said, they aren’t making money off of these items anymore, and they’ve already given us some new items in dlc this august, so why not release the old stuff to gain attention, thats what i’d do if i ran a business, but i guess i just know what I’m doing unlike MS.

I don’t really foresee this helping increase the population for a meaningful length of time. If anything, people would jump on, play their 3 matches for the freebies, then jump right off again for each day.

You forgot number 4.

Number 4- Preorder sales decline

I’m sure there were a number of people who only preordered to get the exclusive bonuses. Likewise, I’m sure there were people who preordered at Best Buy instead of Gamestop to get the Dead-Eye helmet, etc. If 343i sets the precedent that exclusive content will be made available for free to everyone, even if it’s only for a limited time, that content loses its exclusivity. People will be less likely to pre-order the game because any exclusive content will be released non-exclusively eventually anyway.

Further, those who used to feel special and unique because they had exclusive content no longer feel special or unique.

I think this would make people angry.

Seems unfair to the people that actually preordered.

How about unlock all pre-order stuff for 100% commendations?
