An inconsistent, Lag-ridden Mess...

Before you bark at me saying “It’s a flight, there’s bound to be problems!” Here’s the thing, I know that it’s a flight, truthfully, it should’ve been coded better, what we got was a lag-ridden, inconsistent mess. 343 had 6+ YEARS to create this game, and what we’re getting is supposedly a fraction of what Halo: Post Infinite will contain. “Hey, you want campaign co-op and Forge? Sorry, the pandemic has halted our progress by double and now we’re “carefully” creating a half-baked mess for you. Sorry for the inconvenience folks.” At this point, you can’t even blame the pandemic anymore…
I’m opting out of this program due to the fact that all I’m receiving are issues where there shouldn’t be issue in the first place: Rubber-banding, lag spikes mid fire-fight, just the annoying inconsistent -Yoink- that should’ve been cleared day 1 of this flight. 343 has created a new engine for Infinite but I’m beginning to have false hope that this new engine of their’s isn’t holding as strong as it should… 6+ years, remember? Don’t get me wrong, I like 343 n’ all, even though everyone has a -Yoink!- for Bungie still because people can’t let go of the past and want Halo 3 copy-pasted games every release. Where the f!@# is the fun in that?! Anyways, they are trying their best at what they can do but is it enough for a release that is 3 months away?

I mean, I’ve had no issue whatsoever. It might be due to your hardware or network. I take it you’re flighting on PC? Go to speedtest.net and see what your internet speeds are looking like. I’m not defending the state that the flight might be in for you, I’m just surprised you’re having issues like that.

I’m on console.

Experienced some rubber banding and at one point, game was running great, no lag, clean shots, and BAM! Teleported to a random spot on the map (Bazaar).

just restart the game & its fixed, bug

It’s not that simple, my guy. That doesn’t work 100% of the time, you know that, right?

Which console? I’m flighted on PC and Xbox. I can test on most of the consoles. Today I was playing on One X. The only problem I’m experiencing in terms of performance is that the game resets back to “Quality” graphics option causing it to go to 30fps, while setting it to performance gives a smooth 60fps with no hiccups at all. This occurs after EVERY map which is really annoying. Each map I have to press start -> settings -> set option to quality (it will say performance, but this is not the case) and then set it back to performance. Everything is fine again.

I’m playing on a One S.

yep, Those things happened to me too, i think the game is too sensitive to the packet losses

What is rubber banding?

Last flight I played on One S and had little to none issues, now I’m on SX with a brand new “gaming tv” and I’ve experienced a bit of weird behavior, like smallish teleportation sometimes. Just walking and snap I’m a few meters from where I was walking… and bro they haven’t been working on Infinite for 6 years, it’s more like 3-4 from what I’ve understood. Count in the pandemic with all it’s extra delays like things such as setting things up in your home and the difficulty of communicating with your colleagues (can’t just walk up to someone at any time and say/show your thoughts), it must’ve been quite a challenge for them. It’s a massive AAA game they’ve been working on from home, bro.

Rubber-banding is lag-induced teleportation, which often thanks to the game’s constant de-syncing., that, or your bad internet.
