Okay,
What its about!
So with an increase in forum member joining the Halo Waypoint forums we don’t want these new forums to slip to having the same problems as with the Halo Reach forums and other Bungie.net forums. Now I do not wish to offend any new users from Bungie.net here but I have witnessed several people saying the bad habits of the Bungie forums are coming here.
With that in mind its time we step in. As a caring member of this community I have taken the step and I urge other to take the step too. Hopefully we together can keep these forums in a state of peace without trouble makers, flamers and trolls.
This is a petition for new members and old members alike.
Now what we want is a community which is a good place to express opinions without the following:
- Troll’s (People creating posts to enrage a reaction)
- People asking why they have been banned or suspended.
- People who suck up to 343 and think everything they do is right and follow them without question
- Constant complainers who rant about everything
- Threads that are clearly never going to happen and general spam
So here is what I have thought up. A petition!
The Petition
"By signing this petition you pledge to report rule breakers, not support troll’s and spammers to stand up and tell forum users to not support the troll or spammer using a single polite post. To not flame people posts with rants and 343 is always right posts, to not asked why you were banned and not reply to such threads, and finally to give constructive feedback and comments and be a polite and helpful member of these forums"
By signing this petition you are helping to make the forums a better place. A place that can be used to share and communicate ideas and hopefully improve the game we all love. Thank you as always if I forgot anything please tell me.
PLEASE COMMENT TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND KEEP THIS ALIVE IT EFFECTS EVERYONE HERE DO YOUR PART.

Points to the upper-right hand corner of the post at the symbol of the triangle with the “!” in it.
Trolls, whingers, complainers etc are inevitable. This is the internet and, even worse, a Halo forum. I think you may be asking too much.
That being said, I will, where appropriate, report people who shouldn’t be on the forums, for obvious reasons.
I’ll sign. As far as troll posts, it’s best to report and move on instead of posting, because if you post, then you are just bumping their thread for more people to see and keep bumping by posting.
You do realize everyone basically already did this when signing up for these forums, right?

This.

Yes but if people actually listened to that then we’d never have this problem in the first place.

Sorry but i wont fall for “cult” for they have biased force. I will do this, but i wont tell anyone what to do. It goes against my believes as an anarchist.

Hey, don’t get me wrong I appreciate what you’re getting at. I would add though that you are not supposed to respond at all in a Flaming/Troll thread. No, not even once.
“Report posts that do not abide by one or more of the above guidelines. Do not post in threads that break any of our rules or guidelines. Please report and move on.”
Forum Rules Forum Rules
I would edit my post but your all hating. Not worth it now. Atleast I have got two people to support you’ll all be sorry a year from now. Clearly the rules are not working on the Bungie forums there is no reason that it would be any different here. We need to step in end of story.

I am sorry if what I said made you think I disagree. Trust me I am all about the rules. I was just trying to point out that we have all made a commitment to obey the rules. It is up to us to report rule breaking. I believe that is the key to success. BS Angel and her team do an excellent job of “keepin’ it clean” we just have to do our part.
Cut the Admin team some slack, Trolls, Spamers, and whinners are going to happen, it’s part of having forums.
If you don’t want to see trolls and spammers, don’t go onto the internet.

Of course, but we, as a community, can come down hard on those who do. Bans are much harsher here than on the B.net.
I left the bungie forums mostly because 90% of the threads there were useless and mostly here everything is fun and actually has reasonable significance to the halo series. Support 100%
It doesn’t need to be as big of a deal as you’re making it…But it’s an excellent reminder. During this transition between Bnet and Waypoint, all good forum-goers should be just a little more wary, and eye that report button a little more often if they feel a thread is turning into a flame war, or they see spam/trolling.
