An idea for the Scout Warthog, if it returns

The Scout Warthog in Halo 5 is pretty boring, and I see it as just a cheap option to easily and effortlessly splatter tons of enemies in Warzone Firefight (something I do not approve of). But I have a little idea to make it more interesting, if the vehicle returns in Halo Infinite. My idea is that the empty space in the back should function like a regular passenger seat, except maybe the passenger can turn in all directions unlike in the side seat.

But here is the fun twist: if the passenger is carrying a turret, they should be able to take it onto the back of the vehicle where they can use it like normal, either with infinite ammo or until it runs out (whichever is better, obviously, infinite ammo is more fun), perhaps at the cost of only being able to look ahead and to the sides. I think this would be pretty neat, and it would be just like Jorge when he hefts his turret onto the back of the Spade in Winter Contingency. I know I always wished I could ride on the back of the Spade after seeing him do so, and although one can jump on the back, it just isn’t the same. Plus, it is impossible to stay on without sliding off.

So, to sum it up/put it simply: the back of the Scout Warthog becomes a passenger seat, with the ‘Hold to enter passenger seat’ prompt, and if the passenger has a turret, they can take their turret onto the vehicle where it will function like a vehicle turret.

I have just one better Idea for it: Give it driver and passenger a light armor that make it difficult to take them out.

It’s still an scout but the scouting-team is more save. I can imagine that when BTB is big like 16 vs 16 or bigger that an vehicle like that would be really good to break through an weak point of the enemy line to cpature the flag or to plant the bomb. Advantage you are more protected but still lack in an offensive gunner

So have the option for a Recon vehicle to become a APC or just a normal warthog? doesn’t that defeat the point of having different vehicles?
Why not give the Scouthog some type of spotting ability so it can…scout? like pinging enemies that you directly look at instead of making it a gimmick
The Transhog ( troop transport hog ) could carry 4 or 5 players and would be super useful for assaulting the enemy objective in a game without enhanced mobility.

I am actually of the opinion that the regular Warthog’s passenger seat should provide a slight damage reduction bonus or something, as being a passenger in Halo 5 Warzone Firefight is extremely frustrating, what with the massive amounts of super accurate, bullet spongy AI…not to mention explosive weapon splash damage and the tracking shots of Boltshots, Supressors and possibly Scattershots.

Anyway, isn’t the Mongoose better for doing everything you described? It is much faster and a smaller target, so I’m not sure if a Scout hog with ‘light armour’ would be preferable over that. But I don’t know what I am talking about since I don’t like to play online multiplayer and when I do, it is only FFA with a side of objective (also mostly FFA). Or it would be if FFA playlists everywhere weren’t severely underpopulated…

Well, of course having different vehicles is better, but that is exactly the thing! Right now the Scout Warthog is hardly ‘different’ in that it is just a warthog without a turret. The passenger seat is still there, but it seems to me that it (the vehicle) is nothing more than a splatter tool.
My idea is an attempt to make it more than that, more unique or fun to use. It may not be the best idea, but I still think it is a significantly more fun one, especially since I prefer to play in campaign.

Your idea for a spotting ability certainly is a good one, and would perhaps put the ‘scout’ in Scout Warthog, but I’m not exactly seeing the fun factor. It does not seem like it would be very fun to use. It seems that such a feature would be added for practicality, for the sake of viability. It doesn’t matter how fun something could be if it doesn’t serve any particular purpose, right? But, why can’t the vehicle have both this ability of yours plus the addition of a passenger on the back? I can also think of a way to add a minor level of fun factor to your suggestion, although it would be probably be deemed unnecessary and restrictive. Or something.

The problem with the Troop Transport is that it has never been possible for players to ride in the back passenger seats. I hope it comes back in Infinite with players finally being able to ride in those back seats!
By the way, the Spade in Reach has a driver’s seat, a passenger seat, and, in the first mission, a Jorge with his turret on the back for extra firepower. Would you call it a ‘normal warthog’?

This makes sense to me. Like Jorge in Halo Reach, how he get’s into the truck bed and swivels his chain gun on the roll cage.
It would be great to be able to bring along a turret of your choice on a warthog run. And maybe you only get to aim in a 45 degree area, instead of a full 360 degrees on a normal warthog. Or maybe you don’t get to shoot at all, you just sit in the trunk with the turret at your side. Just being able to take a turret across long distances is so cool. I am all for this.
