I can imagine that when BTB is big like 16 vs 16 or bigger that an vehicle like that would be really good to break through an weak point of the enemy line to cpature the flag or to plant the bomb. Advantage you are more protected but still lack in an offensive gunner
I am actually of the opinion that the regular Warthog’s passenger seat should provide a slight damage reduction bonus or something, as being a passenger in Halo 5 Warzone Firefight is extremely frustrating, what with the massive amounts of super accurate, bullet spongy AI…not to mention explosive weapon splash damage and the tracking shots of Boltshots, Supressors and possibly Scattershots.
Anyway, isn’t the Mongoose better for doing everything you described? It is much faster and a smaller target, so I’m not sure if a Scout hog with ‘light armour’ would be preferable over that. But I don’t know what I am talking about since I don’t like to play online multiplayer and when I do, it is only FFA with a side of objective (also mostly FFA). Or it would be if FFA playlists everywhere weren’t severely underpopulated…

Well, of course having different vehicles is better, but that is exactly the thing! Right now the Scout Warthog is hardly ‘different’ in that it is just a warthog without a turret. The passenger seat is still there, but it seems to me that it (the vehicle) is nothing more than a splatter tool.
My idea is an attempt to make it more than that, more unique or fun to use. It may not be the best idea, but I still think it is a significantly more fun one, especially since I prefer to play in campaign.
Your idea for a spotting ability certainly is a good one, and would perhaps put the ‘scout’ in Scout Warthog, but I’m not exactly seeing the fun factor. It does not seem like it would be very fun to use. It seems that such a feature would be added for practicality, for the sake of viability. It doesn’t matter how fun something could be if it doesn’t serve any particular purpose, right? But, why can’t the vehicle have both this ability of yours plus the addition of a passenger on the back? I can also think of a way to add a minor level of fun factor to your suggestion, although it would be probably be deemed unnecessary and restrictive. Or something.
The problem with the Troop Transport is that it has never been possible for players to ride in the back passenger seats. I hope it comes back in Infinite with players finally being able to ride in those back seats!
By the way, the Spade in Reach has a driver’s seat, a passenger seat, and, in the first mission, a Jorge with his turret on the back for extra firepower. Would you call it a ‘normal warthog’?
