An idea for Firefight in Infinite

So I had an idea about Firefight in the future.

I really enjoyed in the campaign when you made it to the House of Reckoning that you had to fight in the Brute made fighting arenas. Something like that would be enjoyable for matchmade Firefight.

From a lore point of view it would also make sense given the Banished are studying the UNSC tactics during the skirmishes that took place within the House of Reckoning. So it would make sense that the UNSC would create their own simulations to better prepare soldiers for those situations.

That’s just an introductory idea into Firefight for Infinite. I’d also love to see something added in the future where you play a side campaign as your Spartan, sort of like an upgraded version of Spartan Ops from H4.

Not that I think it would ever happen but some PvE like Destiny 2 in a Halo format would be insane, and I’d play that everyday with my friends!

Agreed, I see the concept behind drip feeding things into Infinite to keep it fresh, but in all honestly I’d rather just play the things I like when I like 100% of the time.

I was kind of wanting one that ties in with the multiplayer. so sort of a season or event based thing that stays until the next one comes out

I’ve said it should be open world ring based with scaling difficulty objectives and a final stronghold assault at the end. 4 player

Or a straight up legendary assault on a fortress with 8 players.

Weekends it would have LASO and Mythic options. So yeah I could see OPs idea working very well in conjunction to the idea I had too.

I PRAYED halo MP was going to go a route like destiny. I. PVE we could earn armor and weapon mods based on how we approach the world. No RNG just leveling. And Arena MP would be completely unchanged. No crazy PvE mods or anything just classic fair Spartan Boots in dirt

An Idea I had was just fighting in small missions along side other players sort of a mini campaign

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with a vision like that! Great concept for the open world objective type of firefight, I really did enjoy H5’s massive firefight maps. With a few more objective type goals rather than kill/defend only I think having the 8 man team games on legendary would be good fun!

I’d love to fight and conquer a small section of a ring in a new biome alongside 3 or 5 other Spartans…

The enemy scaling is important, and I mentioned removing time limits if it were to ever be like Warzone firefight because I still hate how an Elite Zealot if it were a boss could tank multiple scorpion shots and also not be boarded if it were using a vehicle.

I liked Halo 5’s Warzone Firefight from a general standpoint, scaling dependant on how many players would be rather neat, you could go from doubles to 4, more akin to ODST and Reach’s firefight, up to 8 like warzone firefight. Enemies and objectives could increase as it progresses.

Atop of that I did want to mention that the way Halo 5 did Firefight would be better if it gave individual players their own set of lives, no time limits unless the objective was more specific (like a bomb defusal etc) and could be set to be endless with no penalty for leaving when you run out of lives. Teammates could continue and complete tasks that could revive you.

Something I disliked about Warzone was that it was indeed a simulation, and to many probably not a big deal. Old school firefight was a bit more immersive in the sense that your character was critical during Reach’s or Earth’s invasion. I guess it could be as simple as how the narrator portrays the “mission” or whatever so maybe I’m complaining for no reason.

Also, a sub-mode similar to the PvPvE in Reach sometime down the line would be a neat Invasion revival depending if we ever get to play as Elites and Brutes or something.
