Playing a bit of D2, and feeling a little “sassy” so I went to the store to look around. I the archive section something clicked.
All armor is 2 seasons behind it’s drop.
Gave me an idea. We talk about earnable credits but what about req?
Combine what we love about reach’s XP/cred system, and also works for a “rarity” random box. Before you freak out remember we had req packs. Didn’t like em. Still don’t BUT,
how’s this as a store front
1k req points; glamour box: emblems, vehicle colors and weapon skins. That’s it. Randomly and no one unlock unlocks them all for it. It’s just for IE warthog.
7k req: colors, I’d really prefer this read materials and patterns but we will see.
12k req: armors. The whole pack as it was in the store.
This list can be refined but is simplistic enough to gather the idea.
Rea points are earned by playing the game. Want more reqs? Git gud. Win matches, complete feats. It’s based on how you preform.
It’ll take awhile to earn things and you won’t be able to get the hot new items unless you’re willing to wait half a year. There’s your intact fomo 343 lied about, and the push for lazy cash cows to spend money. What do us casual and grinders care? Besides if we know we can earn it, we’ll be more open with wallets.
With all that said, put this on the design board and finish the tech problems, we can wait for cosmetics; tech problems first

There has been all kinds of suggestions, but unless things effect how 343’s system is set up, they are not willing to change things to improve it. Store prices going back up is a prime example. Why is that if they are telling the player base “we are listening”?
Take how you got your suggestion from D2 and look deep at what actually happened with the shop in D2. It went from D1 to where the shop didn’t effect the game one bit because the items were placed in the activities to where Bungie removed them items in D2 putting 90% of the cosmetics in the shop. Then they came up with the bright dust so paying and none paying players could earn the BD to purchase cosmetics from the shop, but as time move on Bungie removed more and more options and that RNG since loot boxes are not a thing anymore just so happened to get a lot worse for players to earn that BD and items from the shop.
What 343 did was put everything behind a paywall leaving really no options at all. They lied to the player base prior to the beta being released. They knew the player base wasn’t going to be happy about this, but it was done knowing they were going to have to change things a bit, but to where it was going to work for them, not really for the player base that wants to see things change for the better.
343 is not interested in “improving things” that works for us. They are interested in making a profit and anything that takes away from that will not be considered.

I disagree with nothing you say but if we don’t suggest and scream nothing will change? And if they don’t the dwindling daily count will continue to do just that. When it falls beneath 5k players a day. I think they may be willing to play ball.

That’s if the players count drops that low they might be willing to budge. Right now with the f2p MP is what is to an extent bringing players in, and when new content drops that increase the count as well.
So it’s a if at this point.

Aye but havnt you noticed that just as many that come back leave again? The only ones staying for halo are us really.
And even then there are some like myself who only show up for fracture week because it’s a garuntee you’ll lvl 12 times in days or no life a night. Then what? Like rn I WANT to play infinite. I WANT to go enjoy it but for what purpose?
The core gameplay is great but where is my Spartan going?
I posed this question too, it’s cool our Spartans are canon but as of now so far all they’ve during games is train, and in-between get killed. Our Spartans deserve a good story, and if cosmetics are still shopped we deserve a good way to unlock without money money
