An idea for chatter and weapon countdowns

My idea is that they have a social and ranked playlist have chatter as toggle, weapon spawn indicators, weapon countdowns as part of social for people to learn the times and places. Remove those handicaps in the ranked playlist.

Like it

I dislike this idea. As a social, non-competitive player, I don’t want to be forced to hear all that useless stuff. Why should I be told “POWER WEAPONS IN 30 SECONDS!!!” and have my fellow Spartans constantly yell useless info like “Watch your ammo!” and “You’re good, really good” simply because I’m not interested in being competitive? I like my usual, quiet Halo and do not want these handicaps. But I don’t want to be forced to play competitive merely to not have to have constant chatter blaring into my ears either.

No, I think simply having them as options is the best way to go one way or the other.

They definitely don’t need to be in ranked at all.

There should always be an option to turn it off, but it shouldn’t be in ranked at all.

as I said, you would be able to turn it off in social, or have it on to learn, But they’re not in ranked at all.

Chatter is a welcome addition for ranked play imo. The weapon timing bring old-school timers to the masses, which is good. Hidden knowledge =/= skill, and the chatter weapon timing levels the playing field so everyone can interact with the same information about what is happening with the game. And the call out are great for mic-less lone wolf players and people in party chat, now have some teamwork communication, which is much more desirable then simply silent players.

Moreoever - if you don’t like chatter, then turn it off.

Agreed I think its great. i do agree with the excessive “good job” “your kick butt” or what ever they say stuff, but the awareness stuff is awesome, especially for lone players like you said. the weapon timers is great now it comes down to real skill of the player rushing the weapon instead of those who just happen to “remember” or have an app right next to you. it just make sense to have something like this in the game.

It’s not that i dislike it, it’s just that so many people complain that if they have it off, and someone else has it on it’s unfair and ranked needs to be fair.

The callouts can still be disabled then. Everything else is as the OP said.
