An idea for a Halo Battle Royal !

Hi everyone !

I have an idea for a halo BR that sounds exciting (at least for me). The idea is to combine the old classic game modes (King of the hills, capture the flag …) in a BR with rounds system.
I’ll explain how I see it;

It begins with 12 teams of 4 Spartans who land on a map,
-> Round 1: There are 8 bases on the map, you must capture one of these before the end of the round (when you’re in, you start scoring points like a king of the hill mode). If not, your team is eliminated!
Only in this first round you’re in spectator view if you die.

-> Round 2 : There are now only 8 teams, each teams have a base and spartans can re-appear after being killed.
4 flags appear on the map, you must take one and bring it in your base and then keep it until the end of the round.

-> Round 3 : There are now 4 teams. This is a kill of the hills game mode, 2 or 1 hill appear randomly on the map and the position change every 60s. The two first teams who score 180 points (1s alone in the hill = 1 point) wins.

-> Round 4, the final : 2 teams. Capture of the flag game mode. One flag in each base team, you have to take the enemi flag and bring it in your base to score. Best Of 3 wins !

The end.

I hope I was able to express the general idea !

What do you think of it ??

Best

This sounds pretty awesome. I hope we can get a mode that resembles this in some way. I’m worried that BTB 2.0 will be the most complex gamemode we’ll get in Infinite.

I think this mode would be interesting in it’s own right. In my opinion Battle Royale’s only work with shield systems which means ODSTs for Halo. I think what you proposed would lead to match fatigue for a wide audience.

Nice idea !

I think:
thanks for the contribution, but no.

The concept of Battle Royal in itself, no matter of the execution, is not something the MP would benefit from in the long-run,
compared to other changes and/or additions which could be made using the ressources which would be needed to execute
the particular concept.

I really don’t know if I can see a version of battle royale working for Halo. I’d like one, but I just don’t know how it could effectively work.

I like your idea for a Ground War type game. 12 Vs 12, 5 hills to capture. Your team can spawn in your own base or any of the 5 hills if you control them. If an enemy is in them it is contested and you can’t spawn there. I like the koth aspect to it. Have a flag in each base, a huge distance to cover and if you capture it you get some bonus points or a nice weapon/vehicle dump.

Could even have the 5 hills to be classic Halo maps. Imagine one of them is a crashed ship and looks like Midship inside. You could have proper battles inside to take the point. Overall team score goes up based on how many points you control, then first to reach max score or hold all five bases for a period of time. It is a really fun gametype for Call of Duty, especially if you take out the snipers which no loadouts would accomplish. Fun vehicle combat too.

I just think for Battle Royale it would be a different game. One life in Halo means much meatier shields which changes how all the weapons work. Power weapons would be far too powerful.

I just wanted to add to this idea with a respawn system similar to the Resurgence mode in COD Warzone. Your teammates have to stay alive for a certain amount of time to allow a respawn of the dead player. The timer can reduce if you team achieves an objective, I.e. capture a point, kill players etc. Also, I’m wondering if getting rid of the dbno (down but not out) mechanic would speed up gameplay? With the mid range speed of Halo, and all the vehicular warfare available, I just cant help but think that this could be extremely popular!
