An Honest Opinion

I have been a Halo fan for life. I can vividly remember my cousin first introducing me to Halo: CE, and thinking it was the coolest game ever. I still love the franchise despite 343s terrible attempts at continuing the legacy Bungie created with Halo. From Halo 4, to the MCC, and now Halo 5, they have had three opportunities to deliver a game that had arguably the best basis to build off of.

Now, I will be one of the first people to stand up and say that the Halo 5 multiplayer has, for the most part, been terrific. The balancing has been the best as far as I remember, and I absolutely love it (which shows considering I’ve already played more multiplayer games than any other Halo). With that said, there are some glaring issues that they seem to not understand, many of which have been covered countless times on these forums and other sites.

The main one I want to focus on is 343s inability to respond to their community in a timely manner. Look at how many posts are under the H5: Support forum for people who have paid for REQ packs yet have not received any of them. I was expecting 343 to actually post something, but what do you know? Zero posts from 343, zero posts on Twitter, and no messages relaying that they know the issue is occurring and they are working on a fix.

I understand that they cannot comment on every post, but at least send out a general message of reassurance. Or, gasp, what about actually turning off the REQ system until the issue is fixed? It is simple things like this, that continually happen might I add, that has shown me that I cannot have any faith in 343 actually delivering. It takes them months to deliver what the community has been asking for.

Overall, it’s just disappointing to see a franchise I love go down the toilet like this. I had hoped H5 would be different than H4 and MCC, and while it is leaps and bounds better than MCC (any game that would allow you to play would be considered better), it still leaves me wanting more from a franchise that I never had to worry about in the past.
