An Example of Good Change in Halo.

Its my opinion that in Reach one can find a good template for how halo should evolve. Going from H3 to reach you can find examples of change in the best way possible. Focus rifle was a fantastic addition, Its not easy to use but if you can keep your reticle on you opponent it beasts. It is a vast improvement over the relatively absent sentinel beam from H2-3, the scope addition was AMAZING innovation and made the weapon very useful at a range. Although i dont think we had to abandon the beam rifle. Grenade launcher also was a fantastic evolution, so much so to the point even MLG which is very discriminatory against weapons includes it in its gametypes. Plasma pistol is another example of change in reach for the good, it can kill on its own, and tracking was divided into 3 levels of lock varying from CE level of lock to close to H2 level when the reticle is red and all 3 triangles are in place. The wraith is another example of proper halo evolution, for once it is very rewarding and powerful to use but at the same time is far from OP. Revenant is another example as it is unique from all other vehicles, fun to use, needs some skill but yeh not OP, although i dont think the chopper had to be sacrificed for its arrival.

So yes Halo does need to evolve and it needs to change over time. But halos future evolutions should be about perfecting the formula and weapons that was started CE-H2 not about reinventing the wheel.

If near the end you are saying that halo should evolve without changing core gameplay too much (as reach did) then I agree completely.

I can’t stand how sluggish they have become. H2 wraith was far more enjoyable to me.

this is why I say Reach had some really good changes, its just 60% of them were implemented poorly

LOL I really don’t like the balance of Reachs sandbox. Most weapons are total useless and no pick them anyway. Actually I think they would make a great job if they just keep h1,2,3 formula for sandbox and just make it better. we have the strongest needler to date

AR(repeater)smg/spiker/ has always been a POS best used for clubbing people

PR also makes a good club though stun should be brought back

as for non power weapons I always pick up plasma pistols, focus rifles, concussion rifles and they all work great

reach sandbox post TU essentially is ce-3 sandbox +1 new weapon the GL, concossion is what the brute shot should be, focus is waht sentinel should be, pp is the best we have had so far

the new magnum/dmr/needler is essentially the ce magnum broken up into 3 ranges

well i was refrencing more for the mortar, but i agree they could use a base speed boost

One thing to make Halo 4 require skill to play: Get rid of Bloom.
