An enemy tried to use a warthog in BTB today

We killed it with small arms fire, what’s he think this is, Halo 3? lol

I wish…hell, even in Reach ANY vehicle was something to watch out for…I used to be good with vehicles, but these just…don’t feel right…

I rue the day we gained lesser shields…again. This is what, the 4th reduction in shield quality? 5th? 6th?

Reach? That’s still kinda a stretch, the DMR would wreck Vehicles, then again you’re right. Vehicles were still a force to be reckoned with

Being a machine gun hog gunner is just an accelerated death sentence.

more musical fr-blam!-ing chairs than actually shooting. Other than that, you gotta be lucky. I went 16:1 in a warthog, then got a really bad losing streak, bringing me down to 1.3 k/d, then even .7 by the end of the game.

Lupin-yes, then DMR wrecked vehicles, but it was not a two-shot OP vehicle killer. the rest of the weapons in comparison to vehicles (besides the…INTERESTING…Focus Rifle) were pretty balanced.

As a huge Warthog fan going all the way back to the indestructible hog in Halo CE ( grenade/rocket blasting vehicles was so fun!), Halo 5 Warthog is almost completely useless, especially the Rocket Hog. The only exception I have found was a Warzone Assault game I played last night where the Gunner was basically shooting the equivalent of Rail Gun rounds. This Warthog completely destroyed everybody, and the Gunner had well over 40 kills that match. Aside from this one exception, nobody will hardly ever get into the gunner seat because they will quickly die before they can do any kind of real damage. Handling is Abysmal, constantly flipping over from pot holes. Getting Trunk Jacked and Splatter Jacked is extremely frustrating and makes me want to quit using the hog altogether. Rocket Hog fire rate feels slower, and reload time will generally get you killed. I would love to be able to use the Warthog effective in ANY game type, but currently is so weak and useless it’s hard to blame others for not wanting to get in.

I too have always loved the Warthog, it’s just pro co-op fun.

The rocket hog is soooo bad…

I completely agree with this

Focus rifle just flipped the warthogs XD it was funny to watch, going back to Reach when it launches

I said it on one of my threads, but the vehicle physics in this game are dismal. I’ve never flipped so many times in my life. The Ghost and Warthogs just fly away into the stars at the smallest bump. And what irks me the most is that 343i shows no signs that they’re going to fix it or even that they’re listening to complaints. I can’t tell you how many posts I’ve seen about awful spawns and crappy vehicle physics. I really don’t think they care.

they have been crap mainly since h4, and don’t seem to change…sigh h4 ones were alright on balance in gameplay, but were also too easy to flip.

I actually do pretty alright in warthogs…

I think that was to encourage more strategy and competitively.

What in the world are you talking about?

I miss when Wraiths and Tanks were not Glass Tigers. Tanks are as slow as a turtle and their controls feel like you are driving through molasses.

Wraiths are not as bad but still not as good as they used to be.

I miss when splash damage could actually kill boarders. Way to be noob friendly 343…

Not to go off topic too much but lets not forget about how badly the Scorpian handles as well. Trying to turn that thing around makes me feel like a noob sometimes.

But going back on topic, the vehicles are extremely dismal. The very first thing I noticed on launch day was the ability to turn while boosting with the ghost using the right analog stick… since when could you do that before? From then on I began going through different vehicles and none of them felt quite right. Any sort of airtime and you are 99% likely to flip at least. Whether or not you land right side up is for me extremely rare.

the fact that it’s hard to flip the warthog with grenades makes it more powerful than the halo 3 version, no matter how much longer that one could stay intact. Also vehicles seem beefier health-wise than they’ve been for the last few games so imo that’s a step in the right direction, not something to whine about. When it’s more efficient to shoot at the driver than their vehicle to kill them, that’s a sign that things are going ok.

I hope that when Forge launches we have the option to adjust vehicle durability or damage.

I will agree with you to an extent. For my time in H4, the vehicles hardly flipped for me, Getting in an H5 vehicle, unless its Oni/Ultra, is pure death. I mean even in campaign I don’t wanna be in a warthog or the tank.

When I hop in a hog I shout “who wants to do a suicide run with me” to my teammates and then we go face to face with death.
