An easier way to fix it is to just implement match xp, the âprogressionâ system really damaged the perception of the game, odd to wonder why this wasnât at the least addressed given the feedback from the first preview in august.
I appreciate youâre trying to provide a solution, but this âfixâ will literally have next to no effect on anyone who plays more than 1 game a day
its so obvious, make challenges that incentivize the player base to pursue the actual in game objectives. It would make for the best in game environment too.
Out of curiosity, why baby steps? Iâm not attacking you, Iâve seen that argument brought up countless times on different boards, but itâs never fully elaborated on and Iâm genuinely interested why people think that we need to take âbaby stepsâ for a system that people have been vocally against in multiple games (including Gears 5, a franchise within the Xbox family)
Weâve provided feedback about a system that should have been designed better from the get go. 343 is a multimillion dollar company with intelligent people working there, the idea that we have to pull teeth and take âbaby stepsâ is demeaning to both the player base and employees at 343.
Without a doubt in my mind there are people at 343 who dislike the system as much as we do, theyâre just not the ones calling the shots. The fact that people feel a need to defend slow, incremental progress is extremely telling about the current state of the industry.
coding, you canât just strip out a system and replace it with a new one it can and will brick the game. So you have to take baby steps to move it where you want.
Software isnât like hardware where you can pull it out and put new ones in, doing so will break everything.
Yeah, youâre right, and I get that from prior coding experience. That said, changing the value to â100â for the xp payout of completed games wonât break anything. Theyâve already changed it.
For a completely revamped system I understand the baby steps argument, but thatâs not the problem I, and a lot of people, have. The problem is that the game expects you to get lucky and not get insane challenges to progress, and even if you do youâre soft locked at whatever the weekly payout is.
The dailies also require 20 games to level without weeklies - thatâs a lot for one level.
Additionally, they already have edited the challenges, so itâs not a matter of adding or removing challenges, theyâve got that system down. Thereâs nothing stopping them from adding another âwinâ daily challenge.
Do bot matches give challenges? None of my challenges seem to work or progress so Iâm stuck to 50xp per game no matter what. They could also just simply boost the 50xp to 100xp, so itâs 10 games is a level instead of 20. And add things like medals and score add xp on top as well, maybe 50 to 100xp limit. The scores when you get kills or assists is currently meaningless and could have meaning. 1k points =100xp
Sorry, but 150xp per day isnât that good of a fix. They should put back the daily to 100xp, which is still too low, and go from there and see how people do. Xp gains right now are even slower than before if you donât have those easy weekly challenges to pad the levels at the beginning of the week, this system is fundamentally worse for those who canât play 20+ games a day.
EXACTLY they already nerfed our progression and claimed it was better and for our enjoyment, âwe will make it go from 100xp a game to 50xp, This will help players level up faster!â 343 is completely brain dead apperantly in the regard of math. They can easily stack challenges.
Every match earn 100 xp
Every win is 50xp
Every 1k score is 50-100xp
First ranked game played gives 25-50xp
First ranked win gives 50-100xp
First social played gives 50-100xp
Of course they would probably never be so player focused or friendly cuz this system Iâm proposing is so youâll be able to finish a season within a 1-3 month time frame (or less) realistically and youâll be able to do it at a nice pace so youâll be unlocking stuff every 5-10 games. This system Iâm proposing ALSO means youâll be rewarded faster so youâll be less likely to open the store out of boredom and ponder spending money.
I would also propose to alter the challenge system, allow players to complete ALL of their weekly challenges out the gate, OR allow us to pick which 5 we want to work on and allow us to switch them out after a game, while still maintaining the progression.
Iâd also argue there should be MORE challenges, more challenges such as âfinish top 3 on your teamâ âuse X Y Z equipment X amount of timesâ
The only worthwhile fix they need to do is bump the daily to be 100 per match and then add another daily along side that is 50xp per win. Unless adding a second daily at the same time will cause some game breaking bugs this is the easiest and best wait to fix this.
Of course until they add real per match xp and then readjust the daily challenges for the new system, but that is gonna come much later.
