An easy fix for battlepass progression

Obviously the majority of people want xp based on match performance (score, medals etc.). Until that can be implemented, here’s an easy fix in the meantime:

The daily “play matches” challenge should always be for 1 match, so you get xp for every match.

Add a second daily challenge: “win matches” so you always get extra xp for a win.

This would be an easy way to fix the problems while an actual performance based xp system was designed and implemented.

Doesn’t solve the problem that people want the exclusive item unlock. So they’ll still play selfishly and quit when they can’t do challenges.

It’ll halve the problem at least. Currently people need to do challenges for BOTH the exclusive item AND to progress their battlepass

It’s treating one symptom, not the actual issue. The vast majority will still play based on the FOMO, per game rewards just become a consolation prize for not completing challenges

Well then they should just change all of those challenges to be based on your match performance. Make the challenges based on wins. Kill challenges should only be available in slayer matches, so if you are in CTF there’s no incentive to just run around stacking up kills. Have a separate set of challenges for each gametype that are specifically related to the objective for that gametype. Make challenges that reward teamplay such as assist challenges, flag defense challenges etc.

Exactly.
But that’s a bigger overhaul.

I also think the Capstone challenges should be hand crafted for the item (rather than just a random hard-level challenge), so if you’re rocking that equipment everyone knows what you accomplished.

And that it shouldn’t be just a weekly thing. Right now, all that gear means is that you grinded (ground?) Halo on the right week.
