An Armor-Configuration Aspect We Didn't Notice.

So while everyone is focusing on the weapons, lighting, and other such boards, I ran across a board (‘Seems like Forerunner weapons are returning’) which pointed out a spartan holding a Lightrifle. I already had known about this upon seeing the picture so I didn’t pay it too much mind but decided to look over the pictures out of boredom.

Upon looking them over for a second time, I noticed something a little off…

I direct your attention to the Air Assault Helmet on the left;

Did you see it? It’s upper jaw piece is white, along with a slight bit of white on the upper forehead. You can also see a bit of white on the shoulders and the elbow pads. To further accentuate this, there also seems to be a checkerboard like skin over red area’s of the armor. At first, this seems like nothing; But then I found two pictures that intrigued me;

Look at these two ‘Recruit’ Armored S-IV’s. Look specifically at the jaw and visor cover area’s. They are black. Furthermore there is an ‘8’ on the forehead and shoulders.

Now take a look at this;

The Jaw, the visor cover’s, and certain small area’s on the armor are colored a dark crimson or maroon. With a symbol on the left side of the helmet. And just as an added bonus, let’s also throw in this blue S-IV:

This Spartan has light blue elbow pads and slight vector skin on his arms whilst he has a flame skin on the helmet and a large skull emboldened on his forehead. Another key thing to note is that the lining of the visor is grey, not black.

Now is this rather significant? Not entirely, until you consider this final Spartan:

His entire armor is slate-red…except for the Helmet, which appears to have a pattern on it.

What does this tell you? Separate armor skinning, symbol grafting, and editing. And it also appears we can color even smaller parts of armor such as the bolts.

I’m betting that Armor Skins are making a return.

I have zero issues with that. I welcome them with open arms.

Especially if we can have that Skull!

They look a lot bolder and more noticable, which is great.

Also, we can see many kinds of visors, like: black, red, green, blue and orange (I think)

I hope that all these will come with the beta so we can say to 343 what we like or dislike.
But because of the beta’s 10gb space, I think they will be in.

Nice finds and attention to detail the halo 5 armor is looking great and I hope we can customize the Spartans more than previous titles.

Me too the halo 4 one was goofy but I still used it.

Looks like armor skins to me. Not too surprised at all.

It could just be alternate versions of pre-existing armor pieces with different color/shading like Halo 4 had.

It would be cool if they took customization to a new level though.

I would hope they step up customization to the point of individually coloring specific parts of armor.

Not only would it add a personal touch to our spartans but this would greatly help in identify specific teammates.

This is shaping up to be pretty spectacular. Spartan customization is where its at.

I’m also really liking the Chest piece and shoulders on that blue spartan. H4 had a shortage of good shoulder pieces in my opinion.

If we could place our emblems where we wanted that would be awesome. I want custom emblems though, hope they add them.

I don’t think custom emblems will ever be a thing in Halo (Look at CoD:Black Ops…how many games could you go before seeing male and female parts made from the emblem creator.
I’m sorry, but I would prefer to keep the normal Halo emblems with quite a few more options.

A lot of good armor seems to be getting added or adapted to Halo 5 versus the line up we had with Halo 4 (Save Warrior, Recruit, Air Assault, and a few others)
