Like the thread subject states, this is an amazing analysis of Master Chief in Halo 4’s campaign. It brought a tear to my eye. Analyses like this show just how great Halo 4’s story is and how amazing 343’s vision for Halo and the Master Chief going forward is.
It was a good analysis. While I pretty much hated everything about Halo 4’s story, Chief and Cortana are and will continue to be bright spots. There was just so much great chemistry between the two in the game that felt genuine. Some might say it was cheesy or bad writing, but I’d have to say they were wrong. For too long Chief has just been a stoic, cardboard cutout hero who spouted some lines fans repeat way too much, here he is an actual person. If character development is too much for some people that it spoils the character for them, oh well.
His other point about the Knights and it relating to what Lasky said about soldiers was neat too.
Amazing read Indeed. Kinda wish Del Rio and Laskky had more screen time both had amazing dialogue with chief. Also I would like it more if the Prometheans got introduced later in the campaign as it would make the Remnant more fleshed out and so does the persons in the Infinity.
This article was top notch and well written. Just a few hours ago I had posted a longass reply in some thread related to Master Chief’s mental health post Halo 4, and I had a lot of criticism with the way they kept the ending limited to just Cortana’s rampancy springing up on her. But that’s another matter. The part I definitly liked about Halo 4 was the way they presented THE MASTER CHIEF.
The Hero who is respected superficially by the Ship Captain.
The savior whose contributions are seldom recognized by ONI.
The Man who isn’t a normal man at all!
Best character portrayal for Chief when compared to the trilogy games!
Even Steve Downes read this and posted it on his FB page.
