An admission and apology.

I’ve always disliked Halo 4’s DMR. I do still believe it needs a (very) minor drop in fire rate if it were to be balanced with the other loadout weapons, but I refused to use it on principle and considered it a sign of being a bad kid using an unbalanced weapon to compensate.

Well, I tried it last night by request of a friend. I think you know how this story ends already, but I found that the magnetism wasn’t as bad as I thought it was, even if it is a little strong, and that it gets wrecked against the autos in close and if a BR is lucky it can wreck your scope with flinch, requiring you either pop out and trust your unscoped eyes to aim for the face or eat 9.5x40mm.

So yeah.

I find both work very well, just depends on the map. 4v4 i use the BR and im nearly done the Commendation for it. BTB i use the DMR. What i dont like is the Carbine and LR arnt at the same level as these two. It would add alot more to the game if the LR and DMR were more equal and the Carbine and BR were near equal as well

The LR and CC are weapons on extremes: LR works best at very long ranges while the CC works in close if you don’t have an automatic handy. Pairing one with the other with Firepower and Dexterity for switch works pretty well.

So you passed judgement on a weapon before you even tried it? Your bad on that one. Anyways, the DMR still needs to be toned down slightly. Not as much as most people say, but just a minor RoF nerf.

If they did that, nerfed the range on the Boltshot and limited people to 1 plasma nade off spawn I would be a happy camper.

If the damn thing were to fire literally as fast as a BR there would be NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. People who disagree are blinded by their own DMR…

They’re supposed to be “completely balanced” but they’re not even close. Fire rate equality is the simple, very simple solution to Halo 4’s problems. Unfortunately we’ll have to hope that in the February TU there will be a DMR and boltshot patch.

Good to know. Iv barly used the LR since the power of it when your not zoomed in weak but i find the CC requires the drop on other players really to use it well. I use the Firepower perk to carry it as a secondary for things like that

I say slightly buff its RoF but make it a 6sk.

Just nerf it’s magnetism and aim assist. In other words, nerf it by making harder to use.
