An actual difference.keep this at the top

I believe that all the thousands of hours we put into Halo 3 and Reach should have a meaning in Halo 4, Since everybody make their fore maps on “Forge World” 343 needs to add Forge World to halo 4 so that you can transfer all your saved maps and game types.

Also, All the armor you earned in Reach should be available to you in Halo 4, or at LEAST the credits. Having a new game coming out is awesome, but it feel -Yoink- at the same time knowing that everything I did in Halo 3 or Reach means nothing in Halo 4.

What they need to do is give you armor for completing The Halo: CEA, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo wars, and Halo reach campaigns on legendary or earning certain achievements like the “Ready for a sequel” achievement in Halo wars.

It’s a new game, everyone should start at square 1.

No. It’s a completely different game. Nothing should transfer over but some amount of skill.

Halo is all about a level playing field, your idea is not

> No. It’s a completely different game. Nothing should transfer over but some amount of skill.

No not really.

Seriously though, what about the Forge world maps? Why not have those transfer over? I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of hours on making those maps, I want them in Halo 4, 5, and 6.

> It’s a new game, everyone should start at square 1.

Agreed, we shouldn’t start ahead, but possibly get something extra.

I don’t want another forge world for reasons that I feel should be obvious. The one problem I had with Reach was the lack of maps, this was due to forge world. It took up so much space the only thing Bungie could do was add upwards of 5 forged maps on disc. I don’t want that waste of space.

so what you’re saying is that you should be given stuff for nothing? you earned it for reach, it’s for reach. not Halo 4.

you made it for reach? still, that’s in the past now.

new game. new start.

The only thing I agree with is the last paragraph. We should get some armour from waypoint achievements, like reach did for a few armour.

> It’s a new game, everyone should start at square 1.

New trilogy, new developer, new gameplay, and a newly-modified engine too. I’m sure everyone will be remaking their favorite custom maps/gametypes in Halo 4 just like they did with Halo 3 stuff in Reach.

If we did that than all the complainers would say Halo 4 is becoming CoD AND Mass Effect though.

why would I want the same forgeworld if reachkiddies want to play on forge world they Halo Halo Reach it’s not going anywhere,New Game New Forge

Yeah, like unlocking weapons based on time played and different abilities for everyone.

> Halo is all about a level playing field, your idea is not

His idea is just forge maps, and then simple aesthetic changes how is that un-leveling the playing field?

OT: I don’t think they should re-make forge world, I want a brand new one. The armor idea isnt too bad, would give people some incentive to go and play past games.

100% agree. I have 100% across every single Halo game! I would like something slick for it maybe like a glowing helmet for MP like the flaming head!

No, just no. Not even skill, it’s a different game, the Trueskill system should work differently anyway. The only thing I’d want would be nameplates that can be changed from in game, some of which would recognize you for playing the other Halo games.

No, nothing should transfer over. If you like a map so much that you want to transfer it to Halo 4, I’m pretty sure you can tough it out and create it in what I hope will be a proper map creator.

About a month ago I would’ve agreed with you, but now I can see the sense in 343 wanting to separate themselves from Bungie and starting new while standing on their own design aesthetics. Starting the community off on a equal footing at the launch of Halo 4 isn’t a bad thing.
It allows 343 to build it’s own trilogy while tossing in carrots for gamers like the Road to Recon or Skull Hunts rather than carrying Reach’s Armor and cR legacy into Halo 4. I’m rather excited on unlocking the new Halo 4’s armor and starting fresh in a new Forge remaking my old maps with the new items and seeing where it takes me creatively.

even tho it would be cool to keep maps you created, remember you go back to H3 and Reach and play them if you want.

cR and armor, NO way… ridonkulous …

Forge World should not be in Halo 4 because of the massive amount of lag it caused. It actually ruined many playlists, since everything was the same and it limited the number of people-per-console that could play on it.

Forge World was smart, but poorly implemented.
