How large do you think downloads will be, initially, for flighting?
Judging from the previous MCC Insider Program I would make sure you have at least 80 GB of space available for the builds. Some builds will not use that much space, and may only use 10 GB of space, it all depends on what is being tested at the time.
Campaign, for example will take up a large amount of space when that specific build of the flight program is released.

Thank you very much, excited for it to start
It should be around 10 GB. Reach on my Xbox is only 11-12 GB; and they are only going to have one or two missions from the campaign for the flight.
I would say have a decent amount of storage available but being that these are going to smaller “controlled” testing environments, It might not be super massive.
If you are worried you can always head out and grab some more storage and a sata cable to give yourself a bit more room. Wait till you get in the flight and don’t have enough room first though.
Actual size could be a lot larger than a general game as the assets that come with the game wouldn’t be compressed as much as they could be.
It could also be smaller as we are only getting small amounts of the game.
So don’t worry about it till you have to is my reccomendation

I was only wondering so that I can move some stuff off my M.2 and on to my 4tb hard-drive preemptively
10 GB? For a flight build that probably will only include a few MP maps and MAYBE a campaign mission and that won’t even need 100% of the assets? I’d say something more in line of 4-5 GB to be realistic.
I have more than enough for every game as it comes out. The flight builds will probably be far smaller than the full games, so perhaps a few GB in size?
I would keep 15GB spare for the flights just in case. It’s highly unlikely they will exceed 10GB but always have more just in case.
80 Gigs? I’ll need to make space on my SSD.
Just grab a new NVMe SSD. Performance is key!
I’m so excited to play Halo Reach Beta on PC!
Probably around 20+ GB since there will be added functionality and upscaled textures from the Xbox 360 version

Yeah but maybe due to new compaction tech they can bring it down back to 10GB

343i does not have a good history of compression tech

I mean, maybe it’s a difference of platform. Halo 5 is a 100GB download, but maybe 343i will have more access to the compression technology Microsoft has to help the release on Steam.
Steam has xDelta so download size is small but final piece i much bigger.
I believe the size it’s gonna be small, it’s just one mission, there will no 4K textures, cinematics etc.
