ive read all about the armor mods, and i just dont see the point in them, Halo always used to be so balanced… now that stalker -Yoink- will point out the enemy, drop recon will always give u the heads up on where everything is, so say goodbye to weilding power weapons without this mod, unless u kill a player that has them… im not trolling, but im confused on how these will work, personally, i thik mods are a -Yoinking!- terrible terible idea… why not just let us costomize our loadouts?
my question is, how do they plan to keep it balanced, and with so many mods and combos, how do they ensure us that nobody is over powered?
They can’t really ensure there won’t be a dominant combination, in fact, I’m certain there will be. Their quest for ultimate balance, if such a thing exists, is aided by a computer that analyses player behaviour. If the player pool is using one thing more than the other they plan on tweaking the two things in question so that both are used equally. That’s the impression I get. However, the problem with balance is it’s simply no fun. For example, what would be the point of picking up weapon A instead of weapon B if they were both finely tuned so that neither was better than the other? There is no point, really, is there?
It does worry me a bit. however, If only high level ppl play with high level ppl, and noting that all specs are not available at launch for most ppl… I’m not afraid. If they really watch and analyze the servers well, it could be great; I see perfecting this as difficult, but could be amazing. It brings a sense of identity to the game.
If weapon A is just as good as weapon B, but player B enjoys the feeling and style of weapon B, player B will pick weapon B. you now have customization that allows the player to feel as they want and be who they want at the same time as having balance with player A, who chose weapon A.
The only one i’m worried about is stalker. But i’d like to see it explained a bit more clearly by 343. The media has me a bit misguided. Many sources say slightly different things about it. If there really is a nav point over the person who last killed you and a nav point over the last person who shot you(highly unlikely, worst possible scenario) this one could be horribly over powered. I doubt that is the case, but i would like it cleared up a bit.
