Don’t you hate when you’re so busy chopping up noobs that you don’t notice your clip’s almost empty? It’s difficult to keep track of sometimes, so I think a cool feature would be an ammo warning. If you empty your clip to one kill’s worth of ammo (excluding one or two-shot per clip weapons), the announcer says:
Announcer: Warning. Low Ammo.
e;g: 7 shots left in Carbine, 12 in BR, 5 in DMR, 1 in Sniper etc.
Also, when you reload to your final clip, the announcer could say:
Announcer: Warning. Final Clip.
Reloading for instance, 6 shots into an otherwise empty Carbine would prompt:
Announcer: Warning. Final Clip. Low Ammo.
This could of course be turned off, and would be a way to make Halo more accessible without reducing the skill gap. It would be helpful to all.
If it can be turned off, than I’d say it’s fine.
I’ve lost many a kill because I wasn’t paying attention to the Ammo of my weapons, and this could prove helpful every once in a while.
Although, doesn’t the ammo bar flash when you’re running low? I know it did in CE (with low reloads left) but I can’t remember if future games did that…
I could see the announcers voice getting annoying though… I think I a visual indicator (possibly the bar flasing red) would prove more useful and less distracting, assuming it doesn’t do that already.

It does, but I miss it among the other red in the HUD.
(Damage Markers, Hit Markers, Reticule)
No, no and… more No.
That’s part of the skill, the whole multi-tasking aspect of any shooter, not just Halo.
I visual indicator is all we need.
“chopping up Noobs” = LOL
I think it’d get annoying quick, especially as a Carbine/LR user which run out of ammo rather quickly, remember how quickly Halo 3 CTF got annoying with FLAG TAKEN, FLAG DROPPED, FLAG TAKEN, FLAG DROPPED
Having the announcer say those things would be overkill. Especially since by the time he finishes saying “low ammo,” my clip would already be gone. Wouldn’t help much.
Halo 3 had an indicator next to the reticle that showed a yellow circle if you were low on ammo or battery and red if you were out of ammo or battery. I thought that was perfect.
I’m pretty sure that the low ammo/low battery indication was gone after Halo 2. There used to be a symbol that popped up on your screen, yellow bullets/battery was low, red was empty. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall it being there after Halo 2.
More visual/audio -Yoink!-… Just what every franchise needs, give more help to people who pay no attention to their HUD.
No thanks.
I use my DMR loadout with Awareness instead of Ammo. The DMR has a killtime of about 1.4 seconds, meaning it can run through its entire mag in 3.92 seconds. Adding in an approximately 2-3 second reload, you run out of bullets after about 17.8 seconds of continuous fire. And because i place most of my focus on my reticle and my weapon ammo counter, i dont really check my reserves often.
No thanks. I feel the announcer runs his mouth too much as is. Don’t get me wrong, I love Jeffs voice, but its become overkill. As far as a visual notification goes, I feel that you should be able to monitor your own ammo without your HUD letting you know. Sounds like a crutch in my opinion.
I have a periodic compulsion to reload after every kill, it gets me killed more often then I would like to admit. If you are running low on ammo that is something that is in the game for balance and when you are reloading or empty it’s there to let some one else get a freebie on you.
