Back in Hammer Storm, most loadout weapon variants were given a couple of new attachments: Extended Ammo and Knight Blade. However, these were only available for the weapon’s default scope (projection for AR and magnum, recon for BR, CQC for SMG and longshot for DMR). I assumed we’d get these attachments for the other scopes later on, but I guess I was wrong as no mention of them was made in the Ghosts of Meridian update.
This is quite annoying for me - and others, I’m sure - because I tend to use the projection sight for SMG and classic sight for the BR, which means I have to make a compromise when I want to use either attachment. I’d love to see these attachments come for the other weapon scopes in the Memories of Reach or Hog Wild update.
Also, while you’re at it, 343, why not give the Magnum a full complement of attachments? I agree that the Long Barrel, Energy Bayonet and Knight Blade would look pretty dumb on it, but I don’t see any reason for the rest not to be implemented (aside from tech/engine limitations). Plus, the silenced Magnum could be reskinned to look and sound like the automag (silenced pistol) from ODST.
The magnum REALLY should have a Kinetic Bolts, Long Barrel (Pistols can have those, nothing sinful about it), and a Suppressor Variant. The suppressed Magnum with a Suppressed SMG would let me live out my Spartan’s ODST dreams. :3
I’d like the new attachments to apply to other scopes as well. I’d faint if they added a Recon Extended Mag DMR.
Balancing reasons most likely. That, or they figured no one wanted to use the other scopes…personally I’d love a extended mag recon DMR.
Probably so they can save that to fluff their new REQ totals in a future update.

I don’t know if you noticed or not, but in the ghosts of meridian update live stream, when they debuted darkstar, bravo was playing with an AR that hard extended mag as well as a Longshot scope or whatever it’s called. So they are all already made is my guess. Just not released. Let me know if anyone else notices this.

Longshot AR with Ammo modYep, I found it. I didn’t watch the stream, but looked it up just now. There was also a Recon AR with extended mag or whatever its called.
They will probably release these in MoR.

Because I don’t want a long shot DM4 with extended mags, I want a recon DMR with extended mags. The new attachments aren’t compatible with all scopes like those in the base game.
I wouldn’t mind it but do we really want the REQ system bloated any further with this type of thing.
