Would anyone like ambient life to make a return in Halo 4. I thought they were a nice touch in Reach with the Moas and Gutas, they made the planet feel more alive. I think they would have the same effect in the Shield World (or whatever MC is in). It could give the art team a chance to create some interesting creatures that were around when the Forerunners were
So what do you think?
Space squirrel
I would like it, but more. I doubt there were only 2 species of wildlife on Reach.
More! like the ones in Combat Evolved’s original E3 glimpse before they were cut.
I would like to have animal life to return. But I want it to be more natural. Kinda like Skyrim.
For Example: When you are walking down a path you will see different types of animals doing animal stuff.
-A Bunnie, or a fox running away from you.
-A Fox chasing after a Bunnie.
-A Wolf pack taking down a deer.
-A Saber cat sleeping on a rock.
-A den of bears.
I want something like that for Halo 4.
For Example: You are driving your Warthog down some path on one of the levels. And you will see animal life like what I described.

Reminds me of Red Dead Redemption.
i’d like to see birds. they’d add life to every scenery by just having a swarm flying in the background. a feeding, or nesting swarm suddenly flying away could give away enemy positions - or your own. + audiowise singing birds would add a lot to a realistic experience.
I’m not a fan of adding bears and wolves and bunnies to the game, all that is far too ordinary imo.
But having more alien wildlife would be pretty cool. Seeing a few strange creatures of varying shapes and sizes would do a better job in adding to the feeling of being in an alien world I think.
Yes, I want MORE MOA and SPACE MONKEYS!

I like these ideas a lot.
I feel especially with the concept of landing on an unknown planet that witnessing such animals and their activities would enhance the uncertainty and unknowing experience. Not only that but it is always nice to see something in a game that isn’t a primary objective or figure of attention, e.g marines fighting.
However, I would like to suggest these lifeforms do not appear to regular. It would not only limit their unique presence but would also distract the player from what is intended.
Overall, I think it would be a very nice addition.
We are 500+ years into the future here.
Why would there be saber cats?
Anyone else remember sniping the Halo 2 birds?

- Sabre tooth cats don’t necessarily have to be the exact species that was present on Earth. Their evolution based on the environment on Forerunner planet may mean in 500+ years into the future they are not extinct or evolved.
- Forerunner’s have been known to keep living organisms such as animals for their own reasons e.g Halo: Species protection. They may keep such an animal on this planet.
- If you are suggesting the planet holds the same ecosystems as Earth, just because it is 500+ years in the future from now doesn’t mean the planet has been around the same time as Earth and therefore Saber Cats are still inhabiting the planet in it’s early life.
To get back onto topic. Such animals that we have known to inhabit Earth in earlier periods could easily be present in other worlds. The Universe is infinite (arguably) and therefore the possibilities are infinite.
Edit: “It’s an example.”
It would be cool.
Halo 3 had fish/rats/other things I believe, as well.
From the books, and even the concept art trailer, as well as hints from Frankie. I think we’ll see some more ambient life

It still wouldn’t fit in the Halo universe.
The only thing that should be added is alien life, I don’t want the animals that skyrim has.
(nothing against skyrim, it’s a great game)
Edit: It’s an opinion.

R.I.P Mr. Hedgehog (and Mr. Squirrel)

Of courses it’s going to have alien life. I was listing what the animal life is like in Skyrim. I never said it to have those animals in Halo 4. I was describing how I wanted the Halo 4 animal life to act. So I was using Skyrims animals as an example.

Kay, gotcha.
I want a hippa-kitten-potamus that is all
