I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition on Friday. On the store page at Amazon, it says the following:
The Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition includes early access to the full game four days before the standard release date, Halo Wars 2 Season Pass digital code and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition digital code
Has anyone who also pre-ordered the game through Amazon received the HW:DE code yet? If so, how was it sent to you?
Getting mixed answers now, so getting a bit nervous as I definitely want to play through the 1st game (at least the campaign) before diving into 2.
If you bought a physical version of the game, you’ll get it with the game itself. If you bought digital from them it will be emailed to you. Amazon was not one of the participating retailers that is giving Halo wars: DE early access, so either way you won’t get it until launch. That’s why I cancelled my order with them.

Okay. As long as I get it with the game, then I guess that’s fine. If I don’t I just don’t know who I contact, Amazon or whoever. Thanks for the insight!

This actually isn’t true. There will be no physical copies of HWDE made from my understanding. Also, I Preordered physical copy through Amazon on Black Friday and they gave me a HWDE code. Now obviously they don’t know what your gamertag is but if you provide Xbox support with proof of purchase (I had to email mine), then they will send you a code.

I’m talking about physical hw2, as OP is talking about ultimate edition. That also seems like a very large oversight on Microsoft part, as you don’t get charged by Amazon until your preorders ships, so you really haven’t purchased anything (yet).

Yes I ordered the Physical Copy of the Ultimate Edition off of Amazon. I contacted them and they gave me a code. I thought I had been billed though.
