Alright, I’ll give this a try here. Up to about 5 different answers. I pre-ordered the Halo Wars 2: Ultimate PC Edition from Amazon. Link to make it easy:
In the description, I am to get a copy of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. Per the link, it appears I am going to get a disc/boxed set mailed to me 4 days early. But I am unsure how I get my code for this game if I get a disc for Halo Wars 2.
Did anyone pre-order through Amazon and can shed some light on how they received their copy of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition?

It doesn’t actually say you get the DE code early. Just that you get it. It’s also terribly unclear the actual contents of that physical edition.
You only receive the Halo Wars DE early if you preordered digitally. All physical preorders will release on their respective dates, which includes the copy of Halo Wars DE.
Physical ultimate editions include a Halo Wars DE download code. So when you get HW2 four days early, the code comes with it.
Any digital preorders have a code sent to them through email
I preorder my HW2 UE from Amazon too and didn’t get a code either. I order it digitally and still nothing. Also, it looks like I’ll be getting my download code the day I was supposed to play HW2 early but now I’ll have to let it download all that day instead.
