The date is most likely a placeholder, as most websites do that when the date has not been confirmed yet. Also, the box art is most likely a placeholder as well.

I actually quite like the boxart as is - it is similar to an already released image?
I’m not sure I can stand another protagonist-with-guns-drawn-in-orange/blue on the front cover.

I’m not saying that I don’t like it, I’m just stating a fact. Since they haven’t named the game yet (most likely Halo 5 though), there going to have to change the box art as well to suit the name.
Dayuumm, I love how the story mentioned surviving instead of saving. Hint that this would be even darker than 4.
I’m already hyped. We could be fighting the precursors or even the flood that uses dem Star Roads tech. And I can’t wait to use a Seeker or A War Sphinx, the campaign potential of this Halo is Crazy.

I highly doubt he’s rogue, more like the Flood/Precursors are wiping out all life at this point
Sentient life being hunted? That sounds like more than just the Prometheans (that target humans specifically) and a lot like the Flood. And the mysterious chip… I have to admit, that made me believe that this description is not official. The chip was clearly Cortana’s and Chief was clearly holding on to it in her memory. I don’t know about this description but part of me hopes it’s true 
EDIT: Where was it from? It’s not from amazon but the Microsoft Store product was temporarily removed. If this was from the MS store that would mean they accidentally leaked it ahead of time (which means we may be getting information sooner than we think) though that may just be the optimist in me speaking. Also, if it was leaked we aren’t allowed to discuss it

I don’t think Chief would just leave and hide when Humanity is being wiped out.
Okay so we all know about a leak plot summary or idea that microsoft has for Halo Xbox One storyline but what we dont know is exactly what? Post ideas and different theories below…

Okay so my theory is, Halo Xbox One firstly has to be Halo 5, due to numerical order and also states above, that it is part of the Reclaimer Saga.

The game must or will have something to do with precursors and/or flood. One because 343 Industries stated that Halo Ahem 5 will be the darkest game in the trilogy but it is now a saga so that might change. And that SENTIENT LIFE IS BEING HUNTED, I don’t know about you but that seems to foreshadow a past event when the precursors create life, evolve it to become sentient to test against the mantle, then kill it if it is not worthy of the Mantle of Responsibility. Plus 343 stated that the Reclaimer Saga will loosely use Greg Bears Forerunner Saga which had development and origins of the flood/precursor giving a certain amount of insight.

In possession of a mysterious data chip is quite self explanatory, I mean Cortana wouldn’t have used to the same chip throughout the entire forefront of the Human-Covenant war (Halo: Reach-Halo 4). I mean even when Master Chief was getting new armor in Halo 2 she probably got an upgraded or new chip. So when the chip from Halo 4 had disintegrated in the control panel on the Mantles Approach (Didacts Ship) he must of got a new one. Plus being an SMART AI who can transfer her knowledge and expertise into most or all technological databases I think she could handle a new chip. So then I believe Master Chief AKA John-117 is trying to find Cortana or traces of her left on the Ark and Covenant Holy City High Charity.
3.5 Either that or Master Chief could try to capture the AI Mendicant Bias… remember Mendicant Bias was originally integrated on the forerunner dreadnought and split his data between High Charity and the Dreadnought so when he returned to the Ark he transferred himself again probably to his lifeless husk or Ark databases… in other words I believe Mendicant Bias has had a higher or more in depth relation to the story and Master Chief behind the scenes. This was what Cortana was most-likely talking about when proposing a solution to the flood… the Ark just happened to have a reconstructed Halo being built at the time was coincidental proof of this was that even 343 Guilt Spark, the rings monitor, had no clue of the rings reconstruction.
- A Herculean effort suggests Master Chief would be alone on his quest/mission. Whether I am reading into it to much but Hercules was a Greek hero who completed 12 extraordinary tasks for the gods… perhaps Master Chief has 12 missions or levels in Halo 5 to complete each with an insurmountable or death defying objective. Yet I did say Master Chief would be alone there has been help even in the Greek myth that Hercules got help to kill the Hyrda.
This is all just speculation and opinionated…
