I never said mice were just for flicky games. I said Mnk is not meeting the bar when it comes to Halo. You see better results in other games because mice are handled so much better in those games than in Halo.
Just because controller is doing better than mice doesn’t necessarily indicate that aim assist is that big of a help. It can also indicate that mice are just that bad in Halo’s forumla which is what I believe to be the case.
if that were the case, aim assist would also be an issue in apex even for close range engagements. Halo is also close range but its the way the aim assist works on the BR. Its too strong and every mnk player would only be able to have a 45-55% accuracy. Controller can range from 45-70%. That is a huge difference and makes it way too much of a gap to bridge. If aim assist was nerfed controller players would complain and struggle. It is a big gap accuracy wise. If it wasnt as bad as u thought there would be at least 20k players on pc. It doesnt.

Of course it’s a huge difference. One input gets more aim assist, the other doesn’t. We can’t rely on stats alone to determine the viability between the two.
On paper, controller seems to be taking the bag stat wise. Yet there are videos of some extremely skilled players mapping people faster than a controller can due to the turn speed differences.
Mnk can be just as viable as a controller can but with the way weapons are set up, it’s not as easy as it is on controller. (I’m looking at you, weapons with bloom.)
With that being said, what can be else can be done to improve the experience without outright punishing the other side? I don’t think we should penalize controller players for simply enjoying the game they’ve played happily, well mostly, for 20 years.
“Controller players rarely have to use the right stick in engagements”
…lmao wut
This dude HAS trolling. If not then he’s a moron because this is absolutely false. Halo Infinite factually has the least aim assist and worst controller aiming in the entire halo franchise. Period.
well what they should be doing is playtesting certain levels of aim assist in a niche playlist and see how it does in the community. if it is well received it should be published as a patch. Thats just my take on it. But what i can see is that they should keep both inputs separate. Theyre not the same thing and will never be. Why try to balance them?
hes not wrong. Its hardly ever used on pc controller. Its just mainly the left stick. U rarely have to peg the right stick but its not entirely not used in a gunfight. It doesnt have the least aim assist but its less when compared to MCC

Some more info has come out on how all this works and I think it’s important that people see this and actually pay attention and listen. It’s 100% cold hard factual data that you can’t argue with. I’ve been active in other threads that are very similar to this one except that it’s a much more civil discussion there and OP isn’t toxic. ElnojMLG has recently appeared there and we’ve had a nice civil talk going back and forth explaining things on how the system works and how we feel about how the aim assist functions compared to past titles.
Here are the videos:

These videos are perfect to help anyone understand why aim assist in Infinite feels as bad as it does for everyone.
Been playing since CE here (for real, not just saying so to look like an OG on a forum)
Controller players need aim assist to make FPS gameplay even viable on a controller, which was arguably the core innovation of CE.
Infinite has the weakest aim assist in the series, and especially at the same time as crossplay between controller and MNK players became official, MCC pc release notwithstanding.

lol I think you meant to say that taking out the skill to aim is bad and that aiming has been a big part of the skill gap in Halo
