Amazing game 343! However, aim assist is way too strong (friendly suggestion)

https://halotracker.com/halo-infinite/profile/xbl/Naqser/overview?experience=ranked

On Featured playlists alone he already has 22h and he has 15h on BTB… how is that less than 30h? Overall he has 70h of Play Time (without removing 1h50 of Bootcamp)…

I’m just saying, if you’re going to judge others based on their player stats don’t keep yours private. It’s a bad look.

And everything that I said about Aim Assist in Infinite compared to the rest of the franchise is a proven fact, by people who opened up the code and looked at how it works. There are great YouTube sources if you want to see it for yourself.

Take that to YouTube for possibly the most in depth analysis on how aim assist actually functions in this game. Why it feels more like a finicky lock-on, than a natural part of play, while making one overcorrect the difference between winning and losing a duel.

Took you a moment to realise I was asking for the place you took the stats? Did it?

So, let’s see.

How’d you come to that conclusion?

I seriously can’t fathom how PC keep missing the mark. They all b**ch and moan about controllers and their aim assist being too strong when a majority of it’s player base claimed the AA was too weak, which it was.

What you PC and mice players don’t understand is that Halo is not CS:GO. Halo isn’t Valorant. Halo isn’t COD. Halo isn’t Destiny. Halo isn’t Fortnite. Halo isn’t RS:Siege. Halo isn’t Apex legends.

All those games I listed, that aren’t Halo, are games with exceedingly small TTK when compared to Halo. With the exception of the battle royals (on occasion). When people complain that aim assist is too strong in Halo, what they actually mean is…

“The amount of skill I need to consistently track on a single target is much higher than other games and therefore it’s the game’s fault, not mine”.

The only way to “fix this issue” is to turn off aim assist, because it’s already the weakest in the series, or to turn off forced cross-play.

I also failed to mention that AA on PC is broken and way outperforms AA on console in some cases.

What changes exactly could 343 implement to make mice and controllers more balanced? Turn off AA? Lessen the already crazy low AA? Or give mice aim bot? I’m not sure what you think could be changed, but that’s it. There isn’t some kind of magic setting that will change the way you aim with a mouse. It’s all on you.

And they, 343, refuse to fix it either because it would infuriate the 20 people on PC who still play the game, or they’re incompetent.

if crossplay is becoming a option then its only between platforms what is for the console players a good thing more and you fix also some other problems with it at the same time.

but the diffrend between input from mouse and keyboard vs controler is not going to help at all.
the only thing 343 can do is also make a crossplay input option then the players can choose with what for input there wane play in the match’s more.
more like this how it most work: play with only Keyboard and mouse input players only, play with controler input players only and last option: play with both keyboard/mouse and controler players input.

Aim assist overall in this game is horrible. It was intentionally changed from a slow down when getting close to a target to a full blowen aim for you style. Needs to be reverted back to classic.

I’ve since stopped playing. Play other games my brother. It’s difficult because I love Halo and I always have. I want to play the latest Halo title but not if I literally cannot compete against controller players.

The mouse and keyboard community has been decimated that is true but It’s still worth a fix. I would reduce aim assist only on the BR. These players who complain about AA being too weak don’t even play ranked anyways or use the BR. It’s a win/win

there cant fix it any more with the aim assist.

the reason there cant fix it any more is that things like aim assist and other things once the game has become live and is out off the testing fase you only make a more big mess with it and make only new problems with it.

a lot off other game’s i know have done that also chance things when the game was all live and it has only doing worse and worse in the end for the game.

for exemple: Cod black ops 4 has a BR mode there have nerf a lot off things there to look like it was for a good belance more but in the end it has only doing worse and worse in the game since there have destroy the belance more by the chance’s.

its the same with the aim assist if you chance it now when the game is live then its only making it more worse and worse in the end for the game and players will leave the game for good.
and thats something you cant have now at all with the low population it has now so its only doing it worse and worse.
and you also make sure a lot off people are going to hate the crossplay systems more.

Its probably frame related, since on Xbox one you get like 30 FPS which is horrible for aiming.

I’ve played on both the X1 and Series X now and I haven’t noticed any difference between the AA. It feels terrible on either.

The BR is only strong in Halo Infinite because of the bullet magnetism and the low recoil. Adding projectile movement would fix most of these issues as well. It has little to do with aim assist. It’s simply a case of PC players being worse at tracking a moving target for a longer period of time.

i am in the same boat here as well. Aim assist on controller pc is too strong and needs to be nerfed in comparison to its console counterpart. I am also a former controller player that moved to MnK. I was a former onyx on the crossplay playlist and can agree that controller is moreso a right stick game. Console controller is not an issue because input delay and other issues are exclusive to console due to hardware configs. However, PC is just more responsive and AA just feels enhanced making the game so sticky when targeting someone on controller. Just an FYI too im a masters 3 on aimlabs with competent flicking and tracking skills on MnK. So this provides some credibility to what I have to say. If the halo community just wants it to be a controller game so be it. Because i doubt the MnK community would care about a game that is dwelling on the past.

ur point here is mostly incorrect. Mnk is not just for flicky games. If that was the case it would be impossible for mnk players to compete against controller players on apex. Apex is a game that heavily focuses on tracking especially with auto weapons. Aim assist has been a point of contention and is also promoted to be removed from tournaments like the ALGS. So halo isnt the only game. However, halo has a really high level of aim assist that should be nerfed to a point where apex is to retain what mnk players halo has left. The response time is also removed when switch tracking by aim assist due to rotational aim assist. So that aspect should be nerfed. Tbh tho idrc because halo infinite is already dead in the PC community. Its a game for the older audience for nostalgia and nothing more.

I never said mice were just for flicky games. I said Mnk is not meeting the bar when it comes to Halo. You see better results in other games because mice are handled so much better in those games than in Halo.

Just because controller is doing better than mice doesn’t necessarily indicate that aim assist is that big of a help. It can also indicate that mice are just that bad in Halo’s forumla which is what I believe to be the case.

if that were the case, aim assist would also be an issue in apex even for close range engagements. Halo is also close range but its the way the aim assist works on the BR. Its too strong and every mnk player would only be able to have a 45-55% accuracy. Controller can range from 45-70%. That is a huge difference and makes it way too much of a gap to bridge. If aim assist was nerfed controller players would complain and struggle. It is a big gap accuracy wise. If it wasnt as bad as u thought there would be at least 20k players on pc. It doesnt.
