Sorry i don’t know if the title will show up as capitals im’ trying
to stop it but its not working, not intentional
Anyway i recently joined a clan and they want me to stay in uniform ( forest green color and emblem) all the time. And i play reach a lot and with a lot of different people, but as soon as i step out of uniform i get rained with messages and warnings.
I just figured i could wear team colors when we played together i don’t see why i have to wear them all the time. Is it wrong that i want to leave the clan because of that?
No, it’s not wrong. What is wrong though is asking if that is wrong. If you don’t like the clan’s rules leave. It’s not like they’re gonna chase you down IRL and murder you. Just sayin’.
“Warnings”? Serously? Oh no, you’ll get kicked out of the clan if you don’t straighten up!
They sound like a bunch of idiots. I’d leave them immediately, if I were you. No, it’s not wrong. You’re not in the military. You have exactly zero obligations to these people. They don’t own you.
And feel free to tell them what you think, while you’re at it.
I have been in clans before, a bit more leniant than the one you’re in it seems. If the highest person of a branch or whatever wants you to have a set color/emblem combination, you should do it. If you want to leave over an issue like that, it seems you wouldn’t want to be in any clan. Even if you leave, its not like you still aren’t friends with them. I would suggest, if you still like being in a clan, stick to their rules.

I can understand having a few ground rules, but trying to control the OP’s style outside of playing with them sounds more like a street gang than a Halo clan. I mean, really, how ridiculous is that? Some people take themselves way too seriously.
yeah that seems like a halo street gang to me. So far all the clans i have been in (in halo) only made you wear the clan uniform when with more then 3 members.
Clans should be about playing together as a team and having fun.
Clans that focus on their ‘uniform’ and having similar logo’s simply suck and only contribute to a few people who ‘order’ people around so that their internet ego can be please and can compensate for their tiny -Yoink!-.

that was unnecessary, whats wrong with being an organized team? I think everyone has been stuck in a game of ctf where your other teammates don’t understand the point of capturing a flag and just go for the kills. I don’t see whats wrong with trying to be organized, it doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.

There is an obvious line between an organized clan and an obsessive controlling clan.

Please explain how the effects of everyone wearing the same armor and using the same logo/colors work to improve my DMR and ability to communicate.
I must be a noob at this game, i always thought my headset was the key to communication and team work.
If you absolutely have a problem with this clan, then you should definitely leave. Usually when you have a gut feeling about something, it’s right. Although there’s nothing wrong with supporting your clan by showing your colors. In my clan, we are proud to represent ourselves. But they should be asking their members what they want, not trying to force them to do something they don’t want to do. At least, that’s my policy.
It all depends do you want to be held back by little kids needing to to have a certain logo next to your name. Or do you want to slowly progess to becoming an mlg pro lol

Why are people against this persons comment? He said clans should be about playing as a team and having fun, which means being organized.
What he’s saying is that being forced into having a silly set of letters in your gamertag or being forced into using a certain set of armor or emblems is just plain ridiculous, and honestly he’s right. By doing that it’s the online equivalent of saying “you can’t be my friend unless you dye your hair like mine, buy the same clothes as me, and legally change your name”.
I see some arguments against what I’ve quoted that make no sense.
