My friend told me for individual scoring csr ranking system, that it does not matter what ranks I go against when trying to rank up. Meaning if I went against a bunch of CSR 40’s I’d rank up at the same pace as a CSR 10. Is this true? because I have gotten top score or second place to at least several players higher rank than me in snipers three times in a row and haven’t ranked up yet. I am a 43 in it.
I believe that individual scoring means that your score is all thet matters but I’m not sure.

No, it’s not the same. You rank up faster by getting a higher score than a level 40.
What if your score is lower but your K/D is better?
Also, if 7 of my team leave and I’m the only player left (technically 1st position on the losing team) does my CSR go up a lot then since I’m 1st?
