just a fear of mine, but I’m not the only that is afraid that 343i will pander to the vocal minority? again, just a fear of mine.
The vocal minority of what?
> The vocal minority of what?
And how do you know they are a minority?
No, I’m afraid 343 will pander to the ignorant masses like they did with Halo 4 by turning it into a Call of Duty clone.
Halo 4 had seen a massive drop in the player base. It’s only logical to listen to the fans if they hope to change that in Halo 5. That said, I am sure they’ll introduce some new features and I don’t think Halo 5 will be the classic fan’s wet dream like some people hope it will be. I am hoping for some innovation (and not like Halo 4’s which was clearly inspired by the mainstream FPS gameplay).
So what specifically are you worried about? Ordnance? Load outs? Sprint? Or something else entirely?
Not sure if wat or wat ._.
Thanks for the specifics lol
I just want 343 to make a game everyone can enjoy.
The original games felt very timeless to me. They just did their own thing without looking at what other FPS’s are doing.
Even Halo: Reach got this. It still did it’s own thing.
Halo 4 on the other hand clearly pandered to the mainstream audience. Rather that just doing what Halo did best, 343 decided to add in crazy features into Halo that it didn’t need.
There was no need for Perks. There was no need for Personal Ordnance drops. There was no need to add Flinch.
If there is anyone that 343 should Pander to, Its the Millions of players who ditched Halo 4.
They said they are making a Halo game that fans deserve; And after 2 Lackluster Halo game sin a row, We deserve a Halo game that goes back to the game roots.
Boom.
Interesting question somehow.
I mean: Who is actually the minority? And who is “more right” than the other?
Just because you cry the loudest, doesn’t mean your opinion is the best or weight more than someone elses.
Far not everyone who plays Halo is an active member on Halo Waypoint.
So there are a lot of people who have an opinion but don’t voice it - or in the end just don’t care.
Also people who are satisfied trend to say less. They don’t post every day “woha great game. Keep it exactly that way”.
You see it in everyday politics. There are people who protesting. But most citizens just sit at home and do nothing, whether they agree with something, or they don’t. So you don’t know if those protesters are a majority or a minority.
An other example: A white ago you could vote for a new BTB Gametype and BT Snipers won. Out of 1000 BTB-Players around 100 voted for BTS. 50 and 50 voted for something else. And 800 Players just don’t care. They didn’t knew there was a vote on Waypoint.
So in my opinion, 343 shouldn’t look after majorities or minorities. This doesn’t weight an idea or an opinion.
Of course 343 should listen - but most of all, they should filter, “think” and question.
In the end you should only trust in statistics you faked yourself.

This, I’d be more afraid of 343 pandering to gamer that will leave halo less than a month later. Quite frankly, I’d be happy if 343 have listened to the vocal minority as the vocal minority are the halo players who know halo and what it is and what it should be.
