Who feels the mantis will be pretty over powered. It seems like it has pretty good mobility with the power of a tank. It seems definitely like the kind of vehicle that you would need teamwork to take down. But I really can’t see a downside to this vehicle unlike all the others. Its a solo mech that can take on land and air vehicles with relative ease and is devastating towards on foot infantry. Of course this is in speculation so we’ll see how it is in the game when we get it.
All I know is this lone vehicle will change the way Ragnarok is played for better or for worse
I highly doubt its really as powerful as that trailer advertised. The whole trailer seemed to be set up to advertise the mantis and its awesome looks. If it is that powerful then yeah, that is way op. I bet a good spartan laser blast will take it down.

According to gameplay from Eurogamer on youtube the Mantis is just as powerful as the trailer shows AND can take a laser shot and survive.

We have seen about a minute of mantis gameplay. That is simply not enough time to start jumping to any conclusions about it being OP.
It looks slow, you can certainly outrun it… whilst screaming in abject terror!

Anyway i understand it does seem too capable for anything but it is the most attractive thing to shoot at(a big target and catches attention and becomes a big focus to shoot)
In the vid it showed clips of it being cool but not used continually fir a minute(sorry if im mistaken) maybe the chain gun has a very not far range and bad accuracy and missles are limited or hav long recharge times
It isnt hard to take down it looks also we can hijack it and it can be disabled like any other vehicle

Then yeah, it seems quite op. There must be a catch to it though. Same way with the binary rifle, it must take a while to reload or something.

Seems ridiculously strong. Machine gun turret on one arm, rockets on the second. Has energy shielding and moves pretty fast. Plus being a Metal Gear, it gets points for that too. It’s looks can kill you.
Of course the eurogamer build is a month old, before the game went gold. Plenty of time to do final tweaks in that time. Take that in consideration as the Mantis could be less powerful (but still strong) in the final game.
It’s fitting you have to board it from the back since any good Spartan would deem it suicidal to approach the Mantis from the front. That isn’t an OP feature but rather smart movement and execution on the player boarding the Mantis.

yes but as was said in the video it was a slightly older build. im sure things were noticed and it was nerfed some since then. granted im just assuming but we dont really have anything to worry about because if it becomes a serious problem then the community will complain and an update will fix it right??

i understand that which is why i said they probably already fixed it.
It may be extremely powerful, but I doubt they would include it in if it didn’t have some drawbacks and trade offs we just aren’t realizing quite yet. It can’t be 100% pro without some sort of downside to it. Everything has a weakness, and everything thus far looks well balanced. They have play tested this game a ton, I believe they will make sure this is no exception.
