I’ve come to dread objective gametypes. They were never my favorite, but this game has made them somehow even less likeable than before, especially in what Halo 5 passes off as BTB. The balance doesn’t feel good to me. Strongholds is just “funnel in, die, repeat” without the satisfaction of having kills count toward something. At least KotH kept the game mobile. CTF is as stagnant as it comes. Even on small maps, I’ve had enough of the 0-0 ties to have completely given up on it. At this point, i just want to shoot things without objectives. Warzone without the bosses and bases, a good BTB playlist, something. This can’t just be me, can it?
Just you. Think about how you are playing the objective and how your enemy is and adapt to the situation.
I rarely ever get a tie in CTF, much less 0-0. I have always preferred objective vs. straight-up deathmatch or slayer in any game. I like the team working together to achieve goals, rather than everyone just trying to kill each other. That’s just me, and I feel like H5 has done a good job with rotating playlists, and as for Warzone without bosses and bases, if you want PVP try assault, if you want PVE try firefight when it comes out soon.

You’re not the only one, I never found them fun but I could tolerate them, not anymore

I agree with most of what you’ve said here. I love the options in the game so far; it’s just that my experience in objective gametypes has been profoundly negative, and it spoils the BTB playlist for me.
Yeah, I get what you mean, OP. I just wish there was always an unranked Slayer-type playlist, instead of the super competitive ranked playlists.

See, I don’t even care about the ranks. I guess I’m just one of those awful casuals everyone talks about 
I’ve always had a tolerate/hate relationship with objective game types. The thing I don’t like about them in H5 is that they’re all buried underneath a steaming pile of ranks, so even if I loved them I wouldn’t play them. And anyway, there’s nothing I want from this game that I can’t get from warzone. Including the right to ignore objectives if I’m not in the mood. Viva la warzone!
I think CTF and strongholds are the best game types, there is a lot of tactics you can use!
H5 is the first Halo game were I loath the game types. It’s so disappointing. Even campaign.

I miss a lot of the objective FFA stuff, like Oddball, Juggernaut, and KotH. I will say, though, I think Strongholds does a fine job of keeping things moving around as long as you don’t keep going for the same stronghold every time. That’s really up to you.

I agree with you, to an extent. On any given map, there are three options that, once locked down, are simply annoying to reclaim. If there were five bases, then maybe it would be more dynamic. Or, if it was just KotH.

I agree to an extent on this. Not everyone is so closed minded on here. I miss that aspect of the game.
