… That doesn’t care about Infection? I mean, I don’t hate the gamemode itself, it’s just that I know that my Custom Game Nights from the MoR Update onward will be nearly-exclusively Infection Variants. And while one or two here and there is fine, I don’t particularly enjoy playing 5 different versions of the “One Invincible Zombie and No Respawns”-gametype every time I get a lobby together. That’s why I’d actually prefer it if they held off Infection for a bit: instead of increasing gamemode variety, it usually just ends up decreasing it, in practice.
Im not big on infection either i have only played it sparingly in the past.
I don’t enjoy it much, but my only friend who has Halo 5 loves infection, so it hopefully brings him back.

True, the same (rather unfortunately) goes for most of my friends.
You are not the only one.

I’ve never even played Infection.
Ignorance is bliss.
I don’t care all that much about it. I mean, it’s a nice change of pace from the other gametypes, but I don’t typically play it too much.

Did you even play a single Custom Game in any Halo after 2? I mean, if you did, hats off to you for avoiding the most popular gamemode for Customs and Forge Maps.

There’s a bunch of variety that came out of Infection, in fact most of the stuff made in Halo 5’s Customs at this very moment are things that would be made better/easier with Infection.
The “One vs. Many” setup just has a bunch of ways it can be implemented, like Fat Kid (fairly standard Zombie fare), Jenga and Garbage Man (using physics to kill), Alan Wake (recreating horror games in Halo), Pac-Man and Bull Run (chased by ghosts), etc.

The only Infection Gamemode that I truly love is Speed Halo. Now that Infection is incoming in full, I can finally get to work on that Map.

I am an Arena player. Always have been. I’ve only ever played a handful of customs. Legit customs. Me just messing around on maps doesn’t count.

I’ve always been the BTB-type player, and so I ended playing more “casual”
minigame-type stuff with my friends in Reach and 4. Forge was actually one of the primary reasons I liked Halo, besides the Lore and whatnot.
I don’t use it much, but I like that we are getting it back. Having something that I’ll probably never use is better than not having it when I need it. Same with a lot of other missing mechanics and modes in this game.
well if your friends are your friends I’m sure they’ll respect your desire to try some other game modes in game night. Alas, I understand the dissent. My game night crew will be very pleased about the return of infection. I’m only glad it’s coming because people will now stop asking for it.

I was going to mention Speed Halo, but I wasn’t sure if I was thinking of the right mode. That’s the thing in Reach where you’re going down a ramp at light speed while Zombies try to slam you? If so then yeah, that was one of my favorites as well.
Never cared much for it. The fringe Halo experiences never really pulled me in. I’ve enjoyed some time with race gametypes, maybe an occasional monster truck custom game. The most non-traditional experience I really enjoyed was multi-team.
I didn’t play it much in past halo games either.
I used to play Halo Reach Living Dead every chance I got, so I’m pretty happy. And I’ve had some really great memories playing the endless different custom gamemodes with my friends thanks to Infection. But I respect you if that’s not your thing, that’s one of the great things about Halo, which 343 is finally doing. The many different aspects to appeal to people with all kinds of tastes is what really felt like Halo to me.
I know many, MANY lobbies that only host custom game lobbies for custom made competitive arena and BTB maps.
And hopefully they add more than just infection in the Reach update, otherwise I could maybe see this becoming a problem.
But other than that, I don’t really see your point here.
Think of it this way buddy. To each his own… That’s just the truth. I personally love Oddball and King of the Hill but neither are in Halo 5. I’m happy for the people who play and love infection cause now they can play it. But maybe if we wait we can get what gametype you love the most. I hope Oddball and KotH make a return. Just my preference.
hope that helps.
