AM I THE ONLY ONE?

who likes spartan charge and Ground pound? its sad that I have to choose between ranked halo and true halo. I choose halo 5 before a bunch of whiners ruined it

I use Spartan charge when it’s called for but it’s never my first choice.

Not a single ground pound kill for me yet. Don’t even think I’ve attempted one.

I don’t like Spartan Charge or Ground Pound but I use them whenever the moment calls for it. You would be a fool not to, especially since they are basically power weapons every player starts out with.

Personally, I think Spartan Charge is a little more annoying and a cheap shot compared to Ground Pound because GP can be much more easily dodged or stopped. The Spartan Charge is an instant loss of shield or loss of life with a nasty knock back that can throw you off your game. The good thing is it gives players an extra boost for moving forward.

I don’t think SC or GP breaks the game, they are just annoying but I’ve learned to add them to my arsenal because they can be quite effective if used correctly.

Overall halo is suppose to be futuristic (duh) so I like the concept of jet packs and boosters and all. It’s also pretty great we can finally run. So I think these are all a step in the right direction. However has anyone noticed when you Spartan charge someone and they basically laso back and Spartan charge you right after and your the one that dies? That dosent make any sense to me.

The only reason I ever used spartan charge was to get the commendation. It’s pretty much a cheap shot. I have no problem with any of the other abilities. Ground pound is no problem. Look up!.. lol.

You’re almost never the “only” one who likes/dislikes something. That said, liking Spartan Charge is probably at the very least an unpopular opinion. Ground Pound’s fairly nice, but I won’t shed any tears over Charge never coming back.

I think if Spartan Charge wasn’t near as “un-skilled” and un-dodgeable then it wouldn’t be such a big deal. Like we need to address the elephant in the room and just put out there that Spartan Charge requires no skill to use. Most halfway decent players don’t usually take well to crutches that’re given to players that require no skill to use. It lowers the skill ceiling and dilutes the experience leading to deaths that were attained not because of being outplayed, but to a crutch essentially. I mean the people in this thread are saying GP is alright, because it takes a modicum of skill to actually pull off and can be countered fairly easily. Spartan Charge can be done with your eyes closed lmao (don’t lambaste me, it’s a joke), and doesn’t really have many effective counters that can be initiated in-the-moment.

I don’t mind GP, I mean I hardly ever use it, but I don’t mind its existence. Spartan Charge is just plain annoying. I understand that we’re in the future and Spartans should have access to all these abilities because of their armor yada-yada-yada, but this also a video game that should put player enjoyment first lmao. If a feature leads to a large amount of discontent in the community then it should be re-evaluated imo.

Personally I don’t see how these abilities make Halo a “CoD clone” and I’m fine with their existence. I do think that, like most things in games, some tweaking would be useful.

I think all the spartan abilities are cool & have their place. But I feel they only belong in certain playlists. It makes button layout too confusing. I play on recon because that is what I am used to & anything associated with the B button is a headache to use lol.

Spartan charge is total toilet. Way to much of a get out of jail free card for sprinting around the map aimlessly. I would like it if you couldn’t charge or at leatl if it couldn’t do so much damage, if you are getting shot or the other player made an attempt at dodging it with their thusters. Ground pound is fine. It at least has a charge time… Hmmm maybe Spartan charge should have a charge time even if sprinting, that may work too.

Ground pound is whatever to me, but spartan charge can be real annoying. It is possible to dodge it and when you do the person who used it is at a severe disadvantage, but it seems like so much more planning and forethought has to go into countering someone who is spartan charging you than it takes to actually pull off the spartan charge. Doesn’t seem balanced to me. I think the damage it deals is fine but I think the lock on effect should be reduced so it is easier to dodge.

SC and GP aren’t in one playlist and now part of the game isn’t true Halo? Talk about being overdramatic.

To answer your question, SC is trash and GP is gimicky, but I don’t really mind it and I’ll take it over SC.

I love ground pound and spartan charge. I just tried playing a mission in CE and immediately turned it off and came back to Halo 5. I tried playing an arena game, but then I remembered that the matchmaking always puts me against the hardest sweats. I feel as if I’ve been targeted because no one else has the matchmaking issues that I have. But yeah. I spartan charge, sprint, clamber, ground pound… all awesome.

eeh, spartan charge is a good idea in concept, but the ease of access to spam is what makes it so overpowered. My first kill in Halo 5 was a spartan charge because I wanted to assassinate someone. It caught me off guard. Ground Pound is really fun.

I quite enjoy Spartan Charge…even just pointlessly Spartan Charging into a wall so that I can break it is fun. IDK, maybe the noise it makes when you smash a wall is satisfying to me or something XD
As for Ground Pound? Well, it too is fun, even if it’s a challenge to use at times XD It’s efficient to use against Jackals, Grunts, and Crawlers…not so much against every other enemy or other Spartans

I agree Winter0Assassin , There’s much more to the game than just arena. I love destructible environments and getting to smash into them is fun. Also good against certain vehicles which can be useful. Ground pounding into a group of grunts is just so satisfying.

use them to navigate the map. not a primary even secondary tool for getting kills

Playing on high ping, Spartan charge is undodgable. I hate it for that reason. Ground pound doesn’t bother me, in fact, I rather use it to manipulate gravity lifts into giving me more height.

Yes, because giving players the ability to instantly take out an opponent’s shields with zero effort, easily followed up by a headshot isn’t overpowered at all.

Nor is giving them what is effectively a free rocket.
