I have played all Halo games, completed all of them on Legendary, found every skull, watched every terminal, invested hundreds of hours into each of the multiplayers and read all the books except the Forerunner trilogy (which I’m reading now).
I am a true Halo fan and Halo Lore fanatic; and I must say from all the experience I have had with all the games, I am bored with the repetitive classic Halo that every one - who claims are true halo fans - seems to hold so close to themselves.
As the Librarians reason to convince the Didact: the forerunners have held the mantle of responsibility to close for to long, it is time to move on and let evolution have it’s way - handing the mantle to the humans. (This isn’t exactly what happens or is said, but I have re worded it for my use of understanding). I think it’s time for the Halo community to take advice from the game it loves and let evolution (change) happen. We may not agree with what happens, as to the Didact, but we must accept what happens and look at the bright, unbiased side of things.
I feel like I am one of few original halo fans who want Halo to change and evolve, even if the majority of the community disagree’s about certain aspects.
i like change, people hate sprint because they cant adapt or get mad when people flee or just dont like it because its “new” i like it and in H5 in seems balanced
You’re not the only one. It’s just that the ones who don’t want it are more verbal than the ones who do. This sometimes gives them the delusion that they are the majority.
I like the change as well. There are of course, valid complaints such as taking away things like equipment. But there are substitutes and every Halo game seems to lack one thing from the previous one.
What I really hate are the complaints about things like Smart Scope, Kill cams, and Sprint - Not because they take away or are detrimental, but very obviously complaining because it is an aspect from another game and/or change.
Welp, time to be partially sincere, and also partially a devil’s advocate.

Why would anyone want Halo to evolve for the worse?
That’s my problem with these arguments. People aren’t concerned if Halo actually improves. At the end of the day, they only care that Halo keeps adding new stuff so they can feel good about fulfilling an arbitrary goal of “evolving”, regardless if that new stuff is even beneficial or not.
They don’t care what it does, they just care that its new. And no, I’m NOT only referring to Halo’s made past 2007.
“CoD never changes”. Right, it’s also one of the most successful FPS franchises ever made. Clearly not stirring the pot each game is working out for them.
Who would’ve thunk it?
“b-but my Advanced Warfare”
You mean that game where, when it came out, everyone was begging for a playlist without all the new -Yoink- added?
“b-b-but games have to change to survive”
You keep saying that, Battlefield, Counter-Strike, and CoD will keep throwing that statement back in your face.
No, what has happened is the Halo community has developed a fifth column of general FPS fans that aren’t content with Halo itself. They want to play something besides Halo, and they want to push out all the old timers in the process. And they’re winning.

And what makes you so sure that this is for the worse? It may be worse for you bot a lot of people are liking what they see. And recently CoD hasn’t been doing as well.
On top of that, battlefield 4 made tons of changes to the game itself, added tons of new things, changed how the classes are customized as well.
And CS:GO also made plenty of change to its game as well.
On top of all that, barely anyone plays the game type without exo movement in AW.

> Tweaks to gameplay are not the same as sweeping changes. If you consider them to be, then you can’t hypocritically say “Halo never changes”, because Halo also makes tweaks to gameplay.

Oh please, the change between CE and halo 2 was so drastic that I often question if H2 started out as a sequel to CE or if they just decided to slap a halo campaign to a multiplayer in order to continue halo.
And you may not be making the nostalgia arguments, but you sure are talking like halo 5 looks had and anyone who disagrees is wrong too.

Okay, but then you can’t make the argument “Halo doesn’t change”.
Can’t wait to see you worm your way out of that one.

Reading comprehension buddy.
I’m saying “you hate change” isn’t necessarily justified, because not all changes are inherently good.
