Even after a month of inactivity on the forums, I am still seeing posts about how “Halo is dying” or how “the multiplayer sucks” or something along the lines of that. Apparently I am unusual, because I have put more than 1,100 games into Halo 5 (Halo 5 is now my third most played Halo of all time only behind Halo 4 and Halo: Reach) and I am STILL having more fun playing Halo 5 than any Halo before it. I’m not really sure why this is. Maybe it’s because I enjoy unlocking reqs and using them in Warzone. Or maybe it’s because I enjoy the fast pace action. Or maybe it’s because Halo actually feels competitive again. Or maybe it’s because I found a really good group of friends that I run with in all different types of game modes. I can’t just narrow it down to one specific thing. I really, really love Halo 5 and it boggles my mind that so many people hate it. Yeah, yeah, I know Halo 5 has problems, but still. Every Halo has its faults so why does this one get beat down so much more than the others? I don’t know. What I do know is that Halo 5 is still my favorite Halo to date and I know I’ll be playing it even after I reach SR 152. Does anyone else feel the same way or am I just the black sheep of the Halo community?

I play it almost every day. Love it. Campaign was weak, but the mp is fantastic.
This isn’t getting beat down so much more than the others. It’s exactly the same. Few happy players (of whom there are many) will take the time away from game play to come to the forums and say, “Nice work, 343.” But every kid with grudge and a whine shows up here to make a laundry list of suspect reasons why they’ve had enough and are finally quitting Halo, and why 343 is killing the game, and how anything 343 touches is doomed to failure, and how it would be so great if Microsoft would just disband 343 and sell Halo, preferably back to Bungie. The inanity is without end. Don’t worry about what you read on waypoint. These forums are not a bellwether.

And as already noted, every game is going to be loaded with tears on the forums. Since Halo 2, Halo forums have been loaded with “the franchise is dead”. Unrepresentative of the population. So, ignore it, and make your own opinion.
While I agree with you recon you have to admit this game has not garnered the response that I think Microsoft was looking for. Putting halo back on top of the FPS market was the goal, and this game didn’t do it. The twitch numbers for HCS were pretty abysmal, almost laughable. I like the game there are problems though. 343i doesn’t seem to care what the community is saying nor have they ever. Again its way better than halo 4 but Halo 3 still reigns supreme!

When have they said their goal is to be top dog on the market? As to saying 343 doesn’t care for the community I could easily argue that. You compare h4 and h5 and you’ll see many differences because they listen to the feedback of h4.
I still really love playing this game. The multiplayer is still a lot of fun to play both FFA and Team matches. I have only had one run in with an ignorant team mate. I also have only been betrayed once for a weapon. Luckily other team members saw the betrayal and really gave that player a lot of headaches for the rest of the match.
Most of what I have seen on the forums are people that had expectation that were too high or expectation that they fabricated in their own mind because they feel the game should have been developed a certain way. Unfortunately with the later 95% of the people on this forum do not have the schooling, experience or background to truly understand what they are criticizing, but since it is easy to be a keyboard warrior they freely do so.
Some points made on the forum are valid, such as the advertising for the story line of the campaign. Though a lot of the negative comments are really just people being keyboard warriors or in this case Spartans.

I grew up on Halo 2 multiplayer and it’s safe to say that Halo 5 is better. Love this game.
Im loving it. They are listing to the fans and doing the best that they can. I want to put out there, would y’all like to make your own skins on your weapons?

I’m enjoying it a ton. Best MP since H3 (and I really liked Reach as well).
The negative voices are always the loudest. Every Halo has had tons of gripes by the community. A lot of them are unfounded, the rest are usually addressed in due time. Other than bugs neither 343 or Bungie has ever made dramatic changes in the first 6 months.
The he popularity is down just because there is more and more competition in FPS nowadays. Probably will never see H3 numbers again but as long as I can find a game k don’t really care.
Halo 5 is the best game of 2015, and I’m not even close to getting bored with this game…even though I’m lvl 82 already haha!
Can’t wait to see what the updates have in store for us.
Most of the criticism for the game is exaggerated or ridiculous. People want EVERYTHING THEY SAY! Or the game is -Yoink-! Its like listening to a bunch of spoiled brats argue over their Christmas presents.
I enjoy halo 5 immensely. If I came into halo blind without having played h2/3 then I would prefer h5 over all of them. I do have my gripes with gametypes and playlists, but these are things that can be tweaked and added over time. Some people are just more impatient and demanding, nothing wrong with that. Everyone is allowed an opinion. I’m just always excited for new halo, and this one is a beautiful edition to the series.
