As far as it pertains to the battlepass I don’t care how long the “season” is, I just wanted more maps and permanent game modes
That’s where I’m at right now too. We are getting a nice variety of modes though which is cool!
This game would benefit a ton from 4+ more arena maps and 3+ more BTB maps. I’m pumped for the variety of modes coming in. But with the map pool staying so small I’m worried the new modes will still feel stale for a lot of players pretty quick ![]()
Yeah this is how I feel. Pressure to get 343i to do things is warranted because this game has room to
improve but I don’t think that flat-out hate is needed.
This is how i feel as well
Defending this game in any way is truly hilarious. Who are you trying to convince?? Us or yourself? Its a hair away from being as godawful as BF2042 and anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that. The player count speaks for itself.
There’s no excuse for this. None. This nonsense wont be tolerated forever. Mark my words.
Dude, Destiny 2 has triple the amount of content, loot/cosmetics that is free. I normally don’t play because Bungie’s work is poor quality work, but a barebone game that 343 has barely offered anybody anything?
343 can take their 6 months, actually a year prolonged beta and stick it where the sun don’t shine.
This is some cheap lazy development for it being 2022 with a multi billion dollar company that literally lied to the player base face.
6 months is too long for a game that was just released IMO. 4 months would make more sense and when they get the game to a level they can be proud of then they can step back to 6 months.
There is so much to add, weapons, vehicles, maps, game modes, forge, co-op campaign, etc. Unless they plan on dropping all of this content at once 6 months is a long time between new content.
-Boring simple generic ranking system instead of previous 0-50, no overall ranks
-No service record, pre/post lobbies, very limited stats post game, ranks always reset, ranks only reward k/d not obj
-Customs broken, limited customization, no incentive to play the game
-limited playlists, no ranked ffa
-poor ui, cant turn personal ai off, no report button, rampent cheaters,
-desync, high ping most games, frustrating melee system, cant custom button map controller
Ill never play this game again after 1 month. H2/h3 was years ahead of this.
Stop using this as an excuse. Microsoft has near unlimited money to hire new employees, but they don’t. They contract some kid fresh out of college for 1-2 years. That’s not enough time to get accustomed to the tool set 343 uses(which are supposedly complex, old, and buggy). Combine that with people like the community manager pedaling his cryptocurrencies on twitter and there’s reason to be unhappy.
Cool and the alternative is to waste my time playing a game that devs are putting virtually no time or effort into? What exactly do you think is their job to do? Not make more content for their dead player base?
Would love to play Halo Infinite “like it’s a game”, yet most games provide you with a reason to play their extremely repetitive gameplay loops. That, or they change the game up so that you’re not doing the same crap over and over again. Hell, the gameplay got old after a week or two of variable gameplay. They’ve added literally nothing to the player experience since the release of the campaign. Let me just spit it out, Halo was never popular because of the “gameplay”, it was popular because of all the extremely varied things you could do with that gameplay. Not to mention, the base game is hot garbage littered with terrible weapons and laughable servers/desync. How exactly do you explain the mass exodus of players from a game that has amazing gameplay when compared to others of the series? It’s almost as if gameplay isn’t the entire reason why people play a game. It how it’s played, not why it’s played. Get some common sense.
Nobody plays MMOs for the gameplay because the gameplay in most is verifiably boring and repetitive. The MILLIONS of people that play MMOs and other games with lacking “gameplay” play them for the story, the unlocks, the rewards, the social features, and a progression/variation of gameplay over time. Do you not wonder why Elden Ring is doing Infinitely better than Halo Infinite? It’s certainly not because of the gameplay because there’s not much exciting about constantly dodging and doing an attack or blocking.
Its not about the six month season at this point, but rather that the devs are unable to keep up with what the game desperately needs. New game modes are great but only 2 new maps doesn’t make great improvement on what we currently have. Forge and a custom game browser are probably the two things that could revive the game to its best possible state.
I loved infinite when it first came out, played the hell out of it, in which i put in at least around 50 hours the first week multiplayer released. Playing the campaign took me around 23 hours to beat, since i enjoyed going to each corner of the maps, gathering all the skulls and capturing each base and killing each high value target.
After i finished the campaign, i continued to grind the multiplayer, which led me to complete the battle pass within the same month that the campaign had released. After that, there wasnt much to do besides playing multiplayer, on the same maps, same game modes, waiting for events to introduce a few new stuff. Attrition was an actual fun game mode, WHICH THEY ENDED UP REMOVING FOR SOME STUPID REASON??? I know the devs had there break after the game release, but its been almost 5 months since the game fully released ( December 8th campaign release, would technically be half a year since multiplayer released on November 15 ).
Halo 5 had much better content drops than infinite has. 5 was more fully fleshed out than infinite was in the first place. It took 2 months for 5 to get forge out, in which it is now known to be the best forge to date. Not only that, but 5 also had a decent progression system, play the game, earn req points, use those points to buy req packs, earn armor and stuff to use in warzone. While it wasn’t really favorable at the time, it was still better than infinite’s “progression” at launch. With infinite’s current progression, there isn’t really any incentive to play if you are the person who enjoys being rewarded from playing the game, which in most cases is pretty much everyone. The seasons were supposed to be 3 months for each BP, since the BP could be finished relatively quickly now, it leaves content down only to events, which come and go with not much to offer and with a lot of time in between. Also problematic that alot of stuff is stuck behind the store, even for events too which makes no sense.
Theres pretty much no incentive for ranked either, besides a damn charm for your weapon. Campaign was fun and enjoyable, sucked that there was no COOP , but literally only gave a few coatings and emblems, with nothing to give for completing on legendary.
I love Halo, I love infinite, but theres not much to do with what we currently have and what we are getting for S2. New game modes seem cool, but more than 2 maps would be nice for them to go with also.
Okay, look my guy.
I understand where you’re coming from. I truly do. However, this isn’t a case of overbearing fans. Let me break it down for you.
We requested a roadmap about 4-7 months ago. It’s good that they finally gave us what we wanted. That means they’re listening to some degree.
However, the timing couldn’t have been worse. We’re seeing info that was already explained to us. What this tells me is that there’s a disconnect between the person scheduling these info drops and the people assigned the task of creating said drops.
That simply needs to change. Not only that, but the players need to see that 343 is capable of delivering the experience they promised. It’s only fair. They really couldn’t care less about how it’s done. They simply want to see results.
I mean, especially when they haven’t announced any campaign DLC whatsoever, I think ti’s pretty reasonable to be mad. We were sold a $60 campaign because it was supposed to be live service.
Season 2 looks good to me.
Although, just one new Arena map in a year is disappointing. I mainly play Ranked, which has lost one map (Behemoth) so far, and the map pool is small.
I think it still largely depends on what amount of content is being dropped over the course of the next six months. We don’t know what will happen, so I am going to chalk it up to a ‘wait and see’ scenario. We should criticize this decision afterwards, not before we are even toe deep into the new season.
I’m not mad at the moment. Just fed up and disappointed since I’m getting used to feeling disappointed in how poorly 343i have handled the IP. I’ve been mad at 343i for a while but the thing is I’ve gone 4 months without much interest in playing this game and I haven’t really cared about playing Halo 5 for several years…I’m at a point where I kind of feel like 343i has tired me out as a Halo fan. I’m already 152 on H5 despite my dislike for the game and the lack of proper fixs to matchmaking for MCC for several years has left me wanting to play other games instead. As a Halo fan I find this depressing.
@Ash_Greytree just no. The problem is nothing to do with crutch. This is about a game that lacked content at launch and continues to lack content right now despite it being delayed. 343i should have delayed the game further and given the dev’s enough time to make enough content for a release and they should have not lied about the progression system. To act like this is about crunch is nonsense.
At least we can bunker down and enjoy the first three months.
The new maps look like fun. I’m a huge fan of KOH. And I love the sound of Last Spartan Standing. Then there is the battle pass and the events (fracture and narrative x2). And who doesn’t want to go knee deep into Ninja Swords or Repulsor Rockets.
But come August we’re all going to get a bit nervous.
There is going to be a lot of pressure on Forge and campaign co-op / mission replay. They have to hold us steady for three months. THREE months. And I know that Forge could do that on it’s own… but they wouldn’t want to hit any further delays.
I’ve never actually grown old of Halo Infinite. In my heart, I know the game it can be. Every time I get the time to play Infinite I’m always excited to see what crazy things happen next.
A desync happens and takes my rockets? Dang, try better next time.
The match takes too long to load? Dang, my spartan looks good.
I’ve always had fun playing it and honestly, the six months just gives me more time to grind the battle pass to the point I feel it’s enough. Once that’s done I move on to the Season 1 BP that I didn’t finish. Not to mention all the events happening.
Weird comment for two reasons
-
It’s not about new content pumped into our veins every month as much as it is the game giving us ‘content’ that was standard on release as most of their ‘roadmap’ for the first 3 seasons, likely 18 months of the games lifespan, probably more.
-
Why are you passive-aggressively using the responsible work practice of no crunch as a shield for the real reason they’re in this mess? It isn’t that 343 needed to work harder, it’s that the company is a tire fire of mostly contractors and collapsing management with rotating ideas and no clue.
In no way is that the consumers fault, for expecting more, for expecting the minimum and not even getting that. It isn’t the consumers that voted for Halo to become free to play, If I was given the choice between where Infinite is now or paying 500 USD for a Halo game that is of the same calibre we got with H2, H3 or Reach you know what the choice is.
I’m a consumer that since 2013 doesn’t play games too often to be characterised in that way, or always hanging out for Halo every week/month. It would be swell to have a solid Halo title again, yet unfortunately it has and is going the way of H4, MCC and H5. Sure MCC was saved, but what sane person has 4 years to wait?
