I agree I ran a ElDewrito Halo server. It was awesome and it worked! Wish we had it back!! But daddy gates decided to say: “NO WAY JOSE” so they had to shut it down.
Bummer! sniff sniff
Peace!

I hope it is.
Free to play was a bad choice for a game where fans will cry if the armour changes too much, sprint is too fast, the battle rifles bullets fire too fast, etc.
Customisation took a nose dive. Progression too. Graphics are poor. Forced crossplay. Gametypes lumped in with those you don’t like. Etc etc etc.
Gameplay loop is great…everything else is diabolical.
Do I get this from any other Microsoft FPS studios?
No.
So I hope it dies. As a die hard halo fan. I hope this game dies - it’s a 6/10 at best and I’d rather Microsoft admitted these attempts didn’t work and focussed on making something better. Even if it isn’t halo.
For this you should have something concrete to show them.
Proof of concept.
If it’s software, a good alpha.
For services or management, it’d have to be proof of success.
Convincing them would require a lot of solid calculations to showcase success by doing it your way, supported by valid data.
I’d imagine you’d have to change this one up a lot.
Graphics and sound are missing, and I’d imagine the other teams “order” what they need from them and then build with what they get.
Who’s in charge of the gameplay at the early development phase, or the general assets used in the game like vehicles and weapons?
Sound and User Interface?
What roles exist in “Noble-team”? How large would it be? Unfortunately this team would most likely be always deployed and the members be kept where they are indefinitely, or it’d be a money sink.
QA team?
I have quite a few examples. More than a dozen prime examples of successes to help my case.
Again, dozens of examples and plenty of statistical data to boot.
I love charts.
I love knowing just how to make them peak.
I negelcted to mention Black Team. Good catch.
Granted I simplified the teams a bit much. But it was mostly to provide an example of organization. The key being how best to allocate staff. If you have skill in coding AND modeling, you would be ideal in Noble Team as you can move around departments easily to provide extra man hours where needed.
Perhaps you are great with music as well as map design? Help make a multiplayer map after the soundtrack has been done.
No it most certainly has not. Infinite is a colossal failure. Halo 5 whilst being very Twitch Shooter esque, the MP was very well received. Infinite is such a mess 343 would be better scrapping it and starting from scratch using the BLAM engine.
You are aware that Slipspace is a modified BLAM engine right? Like all Halo/Destiny engines before it? And either way, many people are in agreeance that the gameplay of Infinite is good. I’d say there are three things bogging Infinite down.
Anyone else have anything to add to this growing list?
I’ll argue against this one. The rest, though I may not agree with, are valid and also a matter of opinion.
I’d say that this game’s weapon sandbox is pretty good. There is no one singular weapon that absolutely dominates. This has not been this case since Halo 4, where most weapons had a sandbox role. Halo CE and 5 had the Magnum. Halo 2 and 3 had the BR. Halo Reach had the DMR. Halo Infinite doesn’t really have anything like that. None are OP compared to each other. If anything, some lack compared to others. That may be what you were trying to say. If so, then I kind of agree.
Personally I don’t even think the gameplay of Infinite is good, it’s stale and repetitive with minimal if any kind of variety.
And yes I am aware slipspace is a modified blam engine, I’m talking about using the original blam engine and not the slipspace engine because clearly nobody at 343 knows how to work with slipspace.
I can see what you mean from a utility standpoint.
But I mean that there are a couple weapons that are considered to be inferior to that which they replaced or are simply dump weapons.
Take a look at the Commando Rifle.
Why pick it up when the guns you spawn with, the AR and Sidekick already outclass it?
If you want damage in close quarters, the Ma40 does more damage-per-second than the VK Commando.
If you want to get headshots at mid-range, why use the VK when the SK can outperform it due to less bloom and ROF?
I once got a perfect kill with the Commando Rifle because I got the jump on someone from behind.
And then received a rare achievement that only 2% of players had obtained - get a PK with the VK.
Then you have the Pulse Carbine.
Which compared to the likes of the Storm Rifle, the Plasma Repeater, and the Plasma Rifle - it is just an inferior weapon to shred shields with. Its projectiles even move slower than traditional plasma shots from said weapon; and yet it advertises itself to be a ranged version of the aforementioned Plasma Assault guns.
The Stalker Rifle feels like someone wanted to make a middle-ground between the Beam Rifle and the Covenant Carbine. So now we have a marksman rifle mid-tier weapon that has a slower ROF and overheats when you are in more intensive firefights. Thanks to the ability to vent heat, you can count that as a reload time. So now you have like six shots before needing to “reload” instead of 18.
You know what would’ve been a better marksman rifle weapon than the Stalker Rfile?
The Nail Rifle - a weapon of my own creation I came up with back when I was in high school.
A 12 shot rifle that is a modification of the Needle Rifle.
The brutes made this modified rifle shoot Tungsten Spikes like the Spikers instead of Blamite Crystals.
Had Halo Infinite had such a weapon, befitting the brutal style of the Jiralhanae and repurposing design philosophy of The Banished, I think we would have a better weapon for mid-range combat coming from The Banished.
The issue is that many things in the weapons sandbox seem to be balanced better for PvE than PvP.
Look at the Drop Wall for example.
It is pretty weak compared to the Deployable Cover of Halo 3, blocking literally only one or two shots until a square is neutralized.
But in the Campaign, you obtain upgrades that strengthen it or extend its range.
With just one of those shield strength upgrades, I think that the Drop Wall would be better balanced.
There are just issues with the Sandbox that make certain things undesired.
After all, why pick up the VK unless the AR or SK are low on ammo?
You know that was to stop people from not being clearly visible right? This design philosophy extended into Halo 5 as well, via the outline system. This was not a failure, it was an intended design feature. You’ll note its absence in campaign.
A feature that still annoyed fans none-the-less.
Did Halo fans really have a hard time with target acquisition in Halo 3 or Halo Reach?
I could somewhat see that in FFA modes where players might go greenl, black, or brown to blend in with maps a bit more, but in Team Matches; the majority of the game; everyone is a bright bold color that stands out.
I never said it was justified, but you need to understand that about 343i.
They can and will make design decisions nobody asked for. It’s, honestly, likely part of the strategy. Always have something to talk about or something that may require changes. That way, the promise of altering it, can be sold.
Controversy is free marketing after all.
And yeah. 343 is pretty much never justified.
Exhibit A - The death of J.D. “The Rookie” being a thing ONLY to “motivate” the rest of Alpha-Nine into being Spartans. Oh and also the betrayal of Michael J. Crespo “Mickey” that came outta nowhere.
I mean pretty much though I always wonder why you use their entire names.
Because it annoys me that they called my boi J.D. a doofy name.
“Jonathan Doherty”
1 - We have TOO MANY JOHNS in Halo. We have John-117, SgtMaj Johnson, and Sergeant John Forge.
2 - Totally missed out on making the “D” stand for “Dante”, considering how much Dante’s Inferno was used for thematic reference in Halo 3 ODST.
A more fitting name for my jazzy boi Rookie would be “James Dante” or “Jack Dante” or “Joseph Dante”
“Doherty” . . . what a doofy choice.
Buck - “Hey rookie! Put the hurt on them!”
J.D. - “Time for Doherty to do them a hurty!”
Romeo - “Rookie, I do the stupid jokes. Don’t embarrass yourself.”
Why give The Rookie any name? Just The Rookie is fine.
Hopefully they’re restructuring into a more solid and qualified studio. There have been too many temporary hires and too much outsourcing happening at 343 to make a solid game. We need people who are dedicated and in it for the long haul. Projects should be started and finished by the same people. Microsoft has more than enough money to pay for benefits as long as they focus on hiring based on actual game design abilities, and not… Other things…
Enough is enough with the terrible management at 343, some of which is the fault of Microsoft. No more Prophets. No more lies. We need a good, solid studio that puts the games and respect for them at the forefront. Nothing else actually matters. This is how Bungie made great, industry defining Halo games back in the day. The games themselves were in a bubble, and that bubble was the focus. The instant jump 343 makes when unfavorable politics show up, compared to the crippled sloth that is their core game development strategy, really shows us where their priorities are. I’m convinced they don’t want to make and support good games, despite their cries to the contrary. The focus and heart just isn’t there.
Because the new Halo Encyclopedia decided to try and leave no stone unturned and answer pretty much any unresolved question.
So now J.D. is Jonathan Doherty
Why don’t we call him Joe?
And change his last name to, oh, I dunno, Johanson?
Then we can have a JoJo in Halo- which is only slightly dumber than the actual name but far more amusing at least.
