No clue. I don’t get it either. 20 million at launch and yet 200,000 people gone on steam out of 272,000 roughly and unknown player count on Xbox. There not acknowledging that Steam has the biggest drop in population or the fact they haven’t apologised about the progression system. Plus how many of those accounts are dummy accounts? because seriously it’s a f2p and they can make as many ‘fake’ accounts as possible. There logic is flawed. I feel like there ignoring the fanbase and there pretending the state of the game isn’t as bad as Battlefield 2042 and seems obvious they know it.
With the Free 2 Play model, a company can easily inflate the numbers to make it appear like it’s a success.
Because they are also counting all of the junk accounts, like the ones cheaters use, the boost accounts, the accounts people make just to troll, the accounts you made for your little cousins to play for just that one weekend, the people who downloaded it and played one or two matches and uninstalled etc.
It’s 2nd most played game on game pass right now.
Thank you for reminding me 343 had to call in Joseph as a savior to glue together what pieces they could before releasing the unpolished baron campaign Infinite has. Do you have a source that Ex Bungie devs came in to help fix MCC’s bad ports? I don’t recall ever seeing it and if I can fully believe it I would be very happy
Where are these official numbers? Please provide.
Actually its the 9th most played game on xbox right now.

No numbers provided so who knows how accurate it is, I mean this is MS we are talking about here.
Depends, how many more posts you gonna keep making after already saying you’re done with this game?
how bout for every time you label an opinion ya dont like as a troll?

I said on “game pass” in response to someone saying that out of the 25 million users most just picked up and put down.
It’s 9th overall on Xbox which has a huge number of owners 50million+ so I imagine the game must still be doing well enough. Time will tell if it starts to drift down but the games that are above it have been top of these charts for years without budging.
For a Halo title after Halo 3, it feels like they’re crushing it. Halo is finally getting more players again in the busiest market it’s faced.
Rainbow Six Siege: Built to last
Halo Infinite: Held together by duct tape
It would be a stretch to say that this game has 200k concurrent players, across all its distribution platforms.
20m down to 200k thats a 99% player drop rate.
That’s disastrous. I dont even know what kind of light other than total failure you could paint that in to be honest.
The 200k has absolutely zero weight, because it’s a made up number. We don’t know the number. Saying it has lost 99% of players is a ludicrous statement.
Fact it’s where it is on the Xbox charts is proof the player count is high comparative to all the Xbox users playing other games.
Overwatch has a healthy population on Xbox and it’s 31st.
The smartest thing for a publicly traded company to do is go on Twitter and post fabrications so that when they get caught in a lie their investors get really happy.
People are deluding themselves that Infinite is a small game that only has like a thousand players at peak hours lol.
Regardless, initial success doesn’t matter if we’re talking about a F2P game. What matters is how popular it’ll be in 1 year, 2 years, and so on.
not really. never said only 1000 people play the game, all i said is i doubt the 20 mil count is as accurate or as legit as 343 is actin it is
i dont get why people always try to defend this game by just takin the extreme opposite side of the argument when that aint even the point but whatever
The real metric to look at is player count during events. When Tenrai launched, I believe they gained 15k users (on Steam alone) for about a week that slowly tapered off as people finished their challenges. The cyber event did the same thing.
There’s obviously people that want to play, because when something to play for appears, they immediately jump right back on. I figure more events, a revamped progression/challenge system, and other systems to work toward would bring their retention right back up.
Yeah well you’re wrong. 20 million for a game as hyped as Infinite is after a few months of being free on more than one store/platform is easily believable.
Hah and they have to post about their population numbers instead of fixing their game. Hey if these people want to be so naïve then let them, just sucks it’s at the expense of our beloved series.
Sketch wanted to post that so he could look at it and feel better, his therapist told him he needed to create and see more positive things. lmao
