I just played my first multiplayer match and I could not stand hearing those voices. I felt like they were totaly out of places, they nulify the effect and chills that you get from the epic match narator voices… they are cheesy as ****. I feel like I am hearing the voice of a teenage anime character. It’s not big deal if we can remove those voices… though it surely break the mood… I love my silent Halo games where you only hear echoes of wild life / machinery / gun fire in the distance. I must say that I was surprised with the music starting near the end of the match, this is something I actually really liked, and the music that plays after a match is incredible to me. But the voices of our spartans? I just can’t stand it… I don’t know if this is a trend in new FPS games such as Battlefield or Call of Duty, I don’t play those, but I don’t want my friend to start using those cheesy voice as a mean to push Halo down further more. People in my house are about to ask me why am I watching PAW Patrol alone in my gaming room…

There’s an option to turn off Spartan Chatter in the settings menu. It doesn’t appear to be working in this build but I’m sure it will work by launch. I, like you, have never appreciated it in H5 and am quite fond of the ability to disable it in Infinite.
I dont like Spartan chat either, and ibalso really dont like the ai. I appreciate it being there for personalization. Personally i want a mute button button

I turned it off, but occasionally it still occurs. I wish they could increase the frequency and volume of the AI. I really enjoy it’s involvement and wish it stated enemies locations sometimes based on radar.
I hate the multiplayer voices so much, I am probably not going to buy the game. This isn’t apex legends, it’s halo. Even if there is an option to mure them, I will probably be at a disadvantage to players who are actually hearing the barks and getting info. It actually annoys the hell out of me that only a small minority is pissed about this huge tonal change in Halo
I turned it off in the settings straight away. Think the only way i would have it on if i had way more options to pick from. Mainly different accents. 343 if ya wanna have some halo fans from around the world do some voice acting ill be free when ever. Im from ireland - Dublin
Yeah not a fan of the spartan chatter, as long as it doens’t feed you information like “enemy in red bend” I’ll be turning it off
You can turn it off, although I quite like it myself.
I like basic stuff like the occasional “reloading” or “taking fire” or “grenade out”, it’s a little jarring hearing spartans say dumb stuff like “OVER YONDER” and moaning followed by “sooo satisfying”. I can appreciate the AI making silly comments when you do things but when its other spartans on your team goofing around it feels out of place.
Also the chatter volume and direction was all over the place, It would sound like they were shouting something right behind me but they were somewhere else which was confusing
“Oh, so satisfying”
Sole reason I would turn it off
I don’t mind them too much, as I just ignore them. They just add some ambient noise. I feel somewhat the same with the AI, although the frequency of the AI make it more annoying.
I thought they were funny. The first time I heard a spartan say “over yonder” I legitimately laughed. It will probably lose its charm quickly though and given the option I will probably turn it off. I will probably turn off the ai voice as well if they give the option
It would be nice if the chatter from the spartans was more militaristic and informative. I don’t mind the chatter overall, but I think if they tweaked it a bit it would be more immersive and leave the humor and dumb stuff/ comedy to the AIs. That way each player is able to customize how corny, campy, serious, etc… the game is. I personally love the bits of levity the AIs bring to the game, especially Lumu, but it should be balanced and lore friendly where the spartans are professional killing machines and take combat seriously.

There was 10 to choose from in the app. So we could change our spartan voices.
I liked the British sound. Whoever the female announcer voice is, it’s annoying and I could find in the setting how to turn her off. Reminds me of Harly Quinn or something that isn’t halo at all

Tbh, I freaking love spartan chatter. I mean personally I wish there were phrases to pick or unlock when certain events happen In game…some voices better/worse than others and yes maybe some cheesy lines here and there. Overall though I really love how alive the game feels. I play with friends and even still I dont at all mind it.
For reference though, I’m someone who loved something like mass effects 3 multiplayer and how the various characters you’d unlock say things a certain way when there shields pop or an Atlas would spawn. Man. Good times.
But yea. Turn it off option is all you need.
I can’t stand them either, but thank God they gave us the option to turn them off.
Spartans are supposed to be men/women of few words, at least, the time from Masterchief, they did not learn how to joke around and be goofy, they didn’t even learn the right way to feel emotions. They are weapons, flesh and titanium weapons. These aren’t ODST or marines, they are freaking Spartans. Or they aren’t what spartans were supposed to be and are now considered a weakness to each and every other spartans teaming up with them. I know this is just a game but… there is a reason why Halo was rated M for Mature before and now T for Teen… it wasn’t gory or didn’t have much crude language, it was the overall tone of the game that made it M for Mature… Those voices just feel like adults trying to act cool, for teens aprovals. My 12 years old nephew is delighted with those voice, he finds them cool for real, but then he also love every cheesy and corny jokes you hear in movies from the MCU universe, he loves Jar Jar Binks, and his role model in life is Vin Diesel from Fast & Furious. You have the right to like those kind of things, but you can’t deny it changes Halo from what Halo was and should be, it continues to walk on the mainstream basic shooter road. It tries to be like other game of the genre when it shouldn’t. I don’t mind new things, I had fun using the grappling hook, but cringy voices are not welcome for me.
At least it’s an option to turn it off as I don’t like them either, it just unfortunately wasn’t working in the flight.

Although I do agree with your last statement about the tone of the game you do realise the amount of banter within Spartan teams has been shown on multiple occasions. Just think of the campaigns of Reach and H5G an the cutscenes from red team in HW2.
The amount of chatter, repetitive nature of it and not being useful does throw me off of it and had me try to switch it off after a few games too though.
