Am I the only one that LOVES halo 5's movement?

I’ve seen a lot of hate towards halo 5’s movement mechanics. Personally, I love the unlimited Sprint, climb, and Spartan abilities, and I am a halo vet. For years I raged at the inability to move faster than a jog, or climb on boxes slightly too tall to jump on. In halo 5, I feel like a true super soldier. You can fly around the battle field, climbing on buildings, and flying around with your thruster. Personally, I really enjoyed the new movement mechanics, let me know what you think.

I love Halo 5’s movement also.

Moves like that were never possible until now.

I like it too, and have played since the beginning. One thing I see alot is that people whine about a “skill gap” because they think crouch jumping was the most skillful thing in the world, when in reality it’s incredibly easy. The movement mechanics are fine in Halo 5, adds alot of variety to encounters. I don’t see a problem with the game evolving, people just need to take off their nostalgia goggles and they’ll have alot more fun with it.

Yyaaaasssss that no scope tho. True, we’ve never been able to fly around like a real superhero before

I agree fully. Halo has been evolving since the start. Dual wield, Sprint, armour abilities, no dual wield, etc.

Don’t get me wrong I enjoy it… a lot actually.

I just think it can water down what made Halo so great IMO.

Water down… What do you mean?

Well, lets think of Halo game-play as a big pie. With the original trilogy, thee wasn’t much to that pie. There was movement (1 speed), jumping (no clamber or thrust pack), shooting, throwing grenades, and melee. That pie has 5 big healthy portions.

Now lets go to Halo 5. Halo 5’s pie has walking, sprinting, ADS, thrusters, clamber, spartan charge, ground pound, shooting, throwing grenades, and melee. That is now 10 portions of pie. Some would say, more pie is better. Could be, although give me those 5 nice big healthy portions as opposed to those 10 watered down ( for lack of a better term) portions.

That’s a terrible way of looking at it, and the original Halo wouldn’t even have been made if it’s creators had an outlook like that.

Halo 5 is still a fast paced Arena shooter based on map, wep, powerup, and spawn control. It’s just added more options for players with the abilities.

Watch the HCS Summer Finals from yesterday, the gameplay is rediculous.

Halo 5 is very much still Halo.

I can’t speak for the creators of the game.

I never said Halo 5 wasn’t a fast paced Arena shooter with those characteristics you listed. I agree and have previously stated that I happen to enjoy Halo 5’s movements. But as I also stated, it’s my opinion that the original movement system was better suited for the game that Halo is.

I like the new abilities as well. Only thing that they could tighten up is the shooting mechanics.

Ua i love it to. I think it is very nice very nice.
The Dnend Legion

H5 mechanics are fine imo… I just despise Spartan charge. It doesn’t belong in ranked play at all imo.

Personally i love everything in the game too. 343 nailed the multiplayer for this game period, All i need now is an action sack and ill never put the game down

Woah thats just crazy and to answer op yes i do love the abilities in h5 in my opinion they are just so fun and people do need to take off their nostalgia goggles off.

You are the majority of this community. The only reason it looks like Halo 5 has a lot of hate, it’s because the minority vocalize their opinion and thoughts very often. Once they leaved, they say “Halo is trash” easily, because they are not a fan or passionate about Halo anymore.

I like it. Some people complain about how it’s not like it once was. It reminds me of people complaining about having to play on crappy ice (ice hockey). Guess what, we’re all (other team and us) are playing on the same sheet of ice. Adapt or get beaten.

Hmm, that’s weird, cause I sure don’t feel like a super soldier in this game. In the old Halos I could run at full speed with my gun ready to shoot at any time and I could clear most obstacles in a single jump, maybe a rocket or grenade boost for others. In Halo 5 I can’t do that. I feel very limited. I now have to lower my gun if I want to run full speed, I can only run full speed in one direction, and I can barely jump high enough to clear obstacles, now I have to climb things that, before, I could jump over with ease.

Very satisfied with Halo 5 movement. Recently played some Reach & ODST - great for their time, but felt very constrained after all this time playing Halo 5. Definitely adds to the game, they are not detractors!

You weren’t running before, if Halo 2 or 3 is any indicator of that. It was a casual stroll onto the battlefield going, “Yeah, who’s the Master Chief? I’m the Master Chief.” I’ll get to the fight as soon as I drag my half ton suit over there. Worst yet was in Halo 2 there are many things added to the gameplay which make it very obvious you are slow as sloths.

I have always found edges of something that I’d have to park a vehicle to in order to climb up or be forced to take the long walk which became more obvious when I had the ability to climb something and went back to where I had to continually place things near the object to get to a place I am trying to get.

I think the only down side to the new mechanics is that it can’t be used in outside map exploration as I feel like 343 did a really good job of closing up the map… unfortunately I loved exploring the boundaries of Halo CE. /sigh Can’t win them all
