Am I the only one that cant stand these graphics

its pretty simple I can’t stand the graphics they almost seem like a down grade especially forge maps. Just a side note I miss reach.

I happen to really like the way that the game looks, I like its vibrant colors, it is like halo CE with very different colors, I wasn’t a fan of the nitty gritty reach feeling, though I did like reach as a game.

I think the lighting in Halo5 needed more work out of the box. More “finesse” if you would and the lesser tier armors are a testament to that. The silvery glow isn’t quite good, some colors have some overlay filters that make them change from base color to something really faded. They could use more saturation and a decent color burn, if you would.
Other then that, campaign graphics are awesome and what I want to say is, that this could have been done as good for multiplayer, for the rest of the armors, as well as for some of the 343 map objects as well.
That being said, it might not exactly be the best engine, but it’s still one of the best in out there.

They certainly are way too vibrant and the Spartans are too sporty and colorful.

It’s not that I can’t stand them… just disappointed they don’t seem to be that much above H4 really. H2A seemed visually better than H5, especially in BTB

There’s some occasions where I’d prefer slightly less vibrant colors, but I think the game looks good as-is.

I totally agree with you

I don’t mind them. The graphics I had an issue with were H3’s since I always thought they were a little cartoony looking.

Graphics are fine. Gameplay is what matters

It’s not really the graphics but the art style that really bug me. Way too shiny and brightly colored. Everything looks over saturated. And some maps are seriously lacking textures. Just full of big squares and circles that are all solid colors. Worst halo to date in terms of art style.

Thanks JPertu. Halo 5 really seemed to use everything the Xbox One had at its disposal, and it turned out visually fantastic.

Warzone maps look stunning, especially escape from arc. Forge maps obviously look not that entertaining, but honestly I prefer no texture than those from reach’s forge. (asphalt, ugh)

It depends what you mean by graphics. Graphically H5 is objectively superior to any of the other Halo games. If you mean art style, I guess it could do with some more attention to detail but that’s subjective.

Agreed on the forge part. Plus, now the forge maps CAN have texture ( :smiley: ).

As as for the original point, I disagree. I think the graphics are objectively better than any other Halo. And I love the art style. The only reason I liked Reach’s art style is because it made sense from a storytelling standpoint. It was gritty like so many movies. And I’m gonna make a shaky analogy here. I compare Reach to the Dark Knoght Trilogy. You fought against tremendous odds, and victory came at a tremendous sacrifice. It is not a feel-good story.

The MC story, on the other hand, should feel like Superman. One reason many dislike these Superman movies (Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman) is that they try to make Superman seem gritty, when he’s just not. It’s the same with 117. He is Superman. There should be vibrant colors and shiny metal.

the graphics are fine its the art style that is garbage. way too colorful and shiny and the armor designs look like power rangers. the old gritty art style of halo is the greatest of all time for any game. them changing it is just complete nonsense
