I find it interesting that a bunch of people complained about 343i adding Pizza Weapon Skins to Halo 5, but now everyone is complaining that they can’t get a cartoonish Pig Helmet that’s literally on the same level of ridiculousness. Either the Community has changed its views over the last year or hypocrisy has reared its ugly head once again.

I suppose the reason for the Pizza skin upset was because people were concerned about the direction Halo appeared to be taking.
Regarding the current Olive helmet debacle, I imagine that members of the community are upset because there’s almost no chance that they’ll get it.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the Olive helmet, I’d much rather have the Timmy one.
well, id rather not have that kind of helmet overall in Halo or the weapon skins either but the thing is (i suppose) that its not obtainable through conventional means and this could be problematic with completionists.
Or that what makes a community is a melting pot of all different ideas, mindsets, and points of view. You assume the same people complaining about one thing are the same complaining about another.
I personally never had a problem with the pizza skin, I never used it, but it is what it is.
I think it’s unfair to assume that everybody who dislikes the pizza skins (such as me) are the same who have an issue with the Olive helmet being an exclusive (which is not me).
Plus, I think the issue with the Olive helmet is that some people can’t accept that fact that, sometimes, they can’t get everything they want. The Olive helmet is a special gift to those who have earned it, and is rightfully so. These people spent hours buildings maps, making connections in the Forge community, organizing test sessions, all to create good and fun maps. And their reward? They get their maps in matchmaking, and now a helmet as well.
Some people might say that it isn’t “fair”, but in reality, it is very fair. Everybody has the same opportunity to get a map in matchmaking. We all have access to Forge, we can all go and make those connections in the community. Those who took the time and made the effort to do so should be rewarded. Those who didn’t, should not. I do understand that there are awesome map makers out there who didn’t get their maps into matchmaking, which sucks, but that’s how life works. Only a small handful of athletes at the olympics ever get a gold medal. Only one person gets hired for a job out of so many applicants. Welcome to the real life.
Ok, I have seen the Olive Helmet. Does anyone have a link to the Timmy Helmet?

It’s more of the fact that last year, people were up in arms about Pizza Skins and things like it, but now people are up in arms over not getting an item as equally silly as the Olive Helmet. I know that it’s probably not the same people, but I’m trying to point out the fact that people aren’t complaining about the Olive helmet being in the game like they did with the other stuff last year. I just find that a bit odd given my previous experience with these forums, but I welcome the change in view when it comes to these kinds of additions to Halo 5.

That’s a fair point. I think the fact that it is an exclusive item shadows that fact though, and maybe even diminishes it. If this armour was available to anyone through a simple REQ pack purchase, I’m sure there would be just as much outrage, since we would be seeing silly pig helmets everywhere. But the fact that is is an exclusive reward for so few people turns it more into something to be revered, since it is so rare. It’s silly, yes, but it’s so uncommon that it doesn’t really matter.

Well, I didn’t try to assume that the same people who complained about Pizza Skins are the same people who complained abour the Olive helmet, and if it came across that way than that’s my fault. The majority of posts I saw last year about this were against the addition of silly items like the Pizza Skins, while now the majority of posts are complaining that the Olive Helmet should be available for everyone. It’s kind of interesting how much the Community has changed woth regards to this.
I mean there’s already no chance that they can get certain Emblems.
And isn’t the Athlon Champion set still locked?

On the other hand, we still don’t know if the Timmy helmet will be more accessible to the playerbase, but if my guess is correct it’ll probably be as rare as the Olive Helmet.

You could still get it from the HCS team packs, and there’s a Team Liquid pack available right now if I recall correctly. Besides, that’s a skin for an Armor that already has about 4 skins already. A whole Helmet (one that’s a joke, as well) being exclusive is a bit of a different case.

dang millennials and their “every one gets a trophy” lol… Im a millennial so i can make fun of my generation.
I hate the pizza skin solely because it makes me hungry whenever I use it.
As for the Olive helmet, it’s really ugly, but I wouldn’t mind having it simply for the sake of completion. If I didn’t, I’d actually be fine.
I don’t really care about the 2 cartoonish armour and the pizza skin both of them look ridiculous. Probably later on when I’m about to eat pizza I’ll switch to the pizza skin for the fun of it.
I’ll chalk this one up to a whole lot of irony.
