Am I the only one annoyed by this?

Why are the Halo 4 elites and grunts “caucasian”? Even in the books they are described as purple-skinned aliens…
–Grunts–

Halo 1-Grunt
Halo 2-Grunt
Halo 3-Grunt
Halo Reach-Grunt
Halo Wars-Grunt
Halo 4-Grunt

–Elites–
Halo 1-Elite
Halo 2-Elite
Halo 3-Elite
Halo Reach-Elite
Halo Wars-Elite
Halo 4-Elite

I don’t think storm covenant elites wear combat skins.

The Unggoy and Sangheili have never been described as “purple skinned aliens”.
I don’t know about the Grunts specifically, but Sangheili have grayish-brown skin, of which the Halo 4 Elite is a shade of.

The Storm(The covenant remnant) are a different subspecies than the Original Trilogy.

Pretty much that. They are very repitilian in apperance, but i think theyr planets don`t have that much of brightness. So it makes sense that heir skins are whitish because of the lack of sun spectrum they receive.

Because 343 decided to fix what wasn’t broken. And by fix I do mean make worse.

Yes it bugs me too. (Clearly)

You use that word describe them? Really?

In glasslands, I think, Jul thinks he’s going to get spotted for his not dark gray skin tone in Vadam State I think.

isnt it 'cos in halo 4 they r supposed to be the screwed up result of the forerunners ‘storage system’? the one they abandoned 'cos it didn’t work before activating the halo array

whereas in every other game they r the real deal.

Um, no. No to all of that.

I’m not sure where you’re pulling that from. All it is is simple evolution.

I have no problem with other races of the same species. It’s always bugged me about sci-fi series where one race is the same for the one planet they originate from.

Look at humans. How many different races are there? I always consider them just a different race. Probably would be better if they were all mixed up though.

that would be the part where they r serving and i think summoned by the didact…its been a while since i played campaign, didn’t care for it.

How many races? Well only one race of humans.

huh? r u confusing race with species?

What.

Ok, but how do you explain that Thel 'Vadam is “caucasian” in Halo Escalation? Is he the Michael Jackson sangheili reencarnation?
Thel 'Vadam
I looked in “The Fall of Reach” for Elites description but found nothing about their skin. The grunts, however, are described twice as purple-skinned:

> The team of Grunts slogged through the mud. The vaguely simian aliens wore shiny red-trimmed armor. Craggy, purple-black hide was visible beneath the environmental suits. Breath masks provided supercooled methane—the aliens’ atmosphere. There were ten of them, moving in two columns and spaced roughly three meters apart.
> ________
> The Grunts looked like a living carpet of steel-blue skin, claws, and chrome weapons. Some ran on all fours up the slope. They barked and howled, baying for the Spartans’ blood.

Does it really matter? You look at them for all of 30 seconds before you shoot them in the freaking face.
I just assumed the difference was better graphics overall. They’ve changed appearance in every Halo at least a little bit.

Obviously, it’s a conspiracy and 343i are white supremacists. It’s so obvious. #TheyAreWatchingUs

Despite the fact that they’re a subspecies I don’t like the looks of them at all.
I can’t wait to see Elites in H5 whom we know from previous games smash the Covenant remnant forces.

The human race. Not human subspecies.

Canonically, I don’t know. Nor am I overly concerned with their actual appearance, besides the armor.
