Am i one of the only people that is actually enjoying playing this game?
Yes there are so really big issues but overall for me I’m loving the core gameplay however there are some features i really wish they could add, i know some people wont want them but they are just things I would like to see:
Kill Cams - sometimes it would just be nice to see who actually killed me or how i died as sometimes i have no clue.
Maps - really need more maps
Assassinations - I’ve seen enough people asking already
Customization - Need more options and better freedom to put the pieces from each core together, really don’t understand why i got to stick to a certain body type.
Look i know there are still some major issues to fix like the cost of purchasing armour, server issues, BTB which simple just doesn’t work, Lag which in the UK i seem to get at least once every 3 games (Some games unplayable), waypoint features are so lacking it’s got to be the worse release in regards to that? i mean i can’t even see all the medals i can earn or have earned. Honestly the list goes on but for me there is something special about this game and I’m having nothing but fun & a bit of frustration but mainly fun.
Just please 343 lets see a road map about how over the next couple of months we will get to a stable game going forward & content to keep us entertained.
I think because your such a Halo fan a part of you is in denial and a part of you feels the nostalgia from not having a brand new Halo game to play in 6 years.
A part of me really wants to agree with you, but at the same time, its unacceptable how broken this game came out. With so much missing content.
Easy fix: Add a progression system, and add a few more ranked playlists and maps.
To me it’s what you class as broken? if you have played BF2042 you will see that halo is in a miles better place than this game and that was a full release and this was a F2P game.
I understand your frustrations and i agree with all of them in many ways but when i read most the topics on this forum it feels like everyone is hating this game and hate is no good for anything or anyone.
This is one of the biggest misconceptions I see on here. Saying “x needs to be improved” or “x should be done this way instead” doesn’t automatically mean someone hates the game. Plenty of people, like myself, enjoy the game overall but can recognize it’s not as good as it could be.
I understand that it can seem like people are doing nothing but pointing out flaws, but there’s a clear reason for that. There’s nothing to be gained from people only talking about the parts they like. It implies no changes need to be made in that area and makes for rather boring discussions.
Sure, some go way overboard saying stuff like “this game is literally unplayable” or something to that effect, but a lot of people point out issues because they truly want the game to go from good to amazing.
At the end of the day, I’m sure more people enjoy the game than a surface level impression would give from these forums. It’s just that there’s certain aspects that could definitely be better and they won’t ever be addressed unless people point out that they don’t like them how they are.
@BigBadBenn54 For a Halo game we expect more. I waited 6 years to have 1 ranked playlist and 6 maps. Even if everything in the game ran perfect, its still not enough content.
Yes everyone on here enjoys the game enough to post on forums and want to fix the game and make it better. If we didn’t enjoy the core gameplay we would probably just drop it and move onto anotehr game and not sit in a forum. We are here ranting on forum because we love the core gameplay but think it could be a lot better.
People who dislike something tend to be vocal about it. People who are content mostly don’t show up on forums to have a big circle jerk about how great everything is. That’s true of basically anything (not just games). So if you look into forums, etc. you’re always more likely to see more posts on things people have trouble with.
I mostly enjoy the game but there are several things that simply need fixing (BTB, desync) and it is light on content right now. Basically 80% of the posts around here are regurgitating those same issues (they are in your original post as well). And it will likely remain that way until we see some meaningful changes to those issues make their way to the game. Although many would be happy if at least 343 came out and said something about it.
I consider the HI MP equal to or slightly greater then H5 at launch. Obviously we all want more maps, playlists, modes ETC. 343 mentioned this would grow and morph over the next decade which means additions / tweaks etc will take time. I look at it as an appetizer vs a main course of what’s to come. We’re starving for more but the first bites are what’s ready and they taste damn good!
It’s 2022, not 2001. The game play can only go so far when everything else is lacking vs other games that offer a hell of a lot more content and the developer made sure the shop was up and running well.
Even actual f2p games offer a hell of a lot more than 343 has.
I like it. I just really wish they’d get on that desync fix because it makes 1/3 of the games so frustrating that I get tilted.
Also for real, this game needs btb to survive, that has always been one of the highest population playlists and this game hasn’t had a btb playlist that functions consistently for weeks now
I would be in the ‘unironic enjoyers’ boat if I had the ability to use the Forge and play around in the Custom Games browser. I think the multiplayer is cool, if not horribly bug-ridden and desynchronized to hell, but I prefer sinking time into the niche side.
Great analogy! There are very few people on here that know what they’re saying. If more people on these forums were like you, 343i would most likely listen.
I love it, i just think this early base/Beta release is just messing with a lot of peoples brains and their original expectation of a Halo MP, which seems heavily reminiscent of H3 i’ll add.
Yeah there should be more maps, and BTB should be in a healthier state but the technical previews made it pretty obvious that MP was gonna need a serious amount of time to ramp-up…like most freshly launched F2P game offerings these days. However I never understood Peoples fascination with assassination animations in halo. Sure, that H:Reach achievement made you do it a hundred times but they never stuck out to me during game play.
In the end I understand you cant please everyone but the intense lack of patience is frustrating to see sometimes.
Lmao. He basscially said that you ordered a big Mac meal but they only gave you the fries and they taste good. Yeah the fries taste good but where’s the burger?
What’s even funnier is that Halo infinite came with even less than Halo 5 at launch so you can say that you got the drink with Halo infinite and not even the fries.
A good base isn’t an excuse for an unfished game and his thinking is the same type of thinking that got us with no content in the first place.
I made the same argument back then. I called Halo 5 a good base and that it’s ok to delay forge . I was wrong. Halo 5s good base was not excuse for forge to be missing from launch
I’m loving the game. Tons of work to do for sure, but I’m really happy with the sandbox and maps. I like them all a lot, and the “one more game…” MP hook that H3 and H5 both had on me is back
